I have been using BCPE for many many years. First on an I500 and more recently on a Treo755p. I used a beta (of sorts) on the 755p. Just last week Sprint has shut down the server so I cannot get my co. e-mail on my phone (although I can get to the server via my laptop--strange). They tell me they will kill this product for smartphones.

Anyone else using BCPE on a 755p or other POS5 phone? Any information would be appreciated.

Hmm, mine is working just fine as well as a few others I know. I have not heard anything from our Sprint dedicated wireless rep as to them killing the product.

Thanks for the reply. Two questions, please: are you using PE (personal edition) rather than EE (enterprise edition) and what phone do you use??

I use PE and a 755p. The older versions of PE are still working, but they will not work on the more modern phones.

    Thanks!

Unless a lot of folks call Sprint and ask for this service to be restored, it may never come back.

Centrallaw, what phone do you use?

Users of the 755p can use the 700 client but it does not work reliably and that server too may be taken down by Sprint.

Has anyone successfully spoken to Sprint or found a Direct Phone Number for Sprint Data Support?

We use PE and Treo 700P. We do have some problems once in a while with email but not often

Sorry, but two more questions: On your 755p what version of BCPE do you use (e.g., 6.7.3.235 is the version for the 700 that I am now forced to use)?

Also what is the URL of the Sprint server for the PE (eg. bc.sprintpcs.com)?

You might call and speak with retention at 877-858-7592 (if that number still works??).

I do know, that as of now by September all BCPE servers may be taken down by Sprint.

Yeah.. I use it all the time as well. I've been using it since my i-500 phone. Not sure what I'll do if they totally kill it. I guess I'll have to switch to a Blackberry on Verizon (corporate option). I've been a Sprint user for about 11 years. I'd hate to switch, but I need access to my email. Exchange Activesync doesn't work for me.

We are in the SAME boat. I used it since the birth of the I500. Please let Sprint know you would leave if they kill it.

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I apologize for the inconvenience you
have experienced due to shutdown of Business Connection Personal
    Edition.

I am sorry that we cannot do anything about this decision. However, we
do provide other email options like Windows Mobile or BlackBerry.

Further, if your current handsets are not compatible with these
services, then you can upgrade your phones. All lines except line #8635
are eligible rebate. You can purchase new handsets at online price with
a new two-year agreement on each line.

Please visit Sprint Store and our representative will demonstrate you
    the new handsets.

Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.

    Sincerely,
    Valentin V.

They are telling you to buy a new device that will not give you Palm functionality. In other words, they might have just said, "Go screw."
