Since I dropped my 680 into the lake I need to get a new phone ASAP. Want to get a Centro but it's not here in Canada yet, and of the ones available on eBay none of them have a warranty for Canadians. Are Centros "safe" enough to get without warranty? (I read how some people exchanged 3 or 4 680s before they got a stable one.)

I love the Centro but its a cheap phone. The directional button WILL break at one point for almost everyone im guessing.

    Get the insurance.

I've never heard of cell phone insurance. Online searching revealed hits in US and UK but none in Canada. Does anyone know?

Most of them refer to it as a protection plan, or extended warranty along those lines. As the above poster said, it is usually available through the service carrier.
