Doe any one know what the most current PRL for the 700P is?

I Checked mine the other day, and it was listed as 60640. I called sprint, and had them push supposedly the most current one to me, and I am now at 20231.

    How can that be?

    Just want to compare notes.

i do not remember what it was before but this thread prompted me to dial *2 today and tada i got my PRL update and its now the same 20231 - it must be the latest - but yes it seems odd to go from your 60640 to 20231 but who knows - it IS sprint afterall lol

i beleve the difrence between the two prl is what carrier the roming is set to.
sprint has changed who its primary roming towers will be and that could explain the diffrenc int he numbers from 60xxx to 20xxx could be the diffrenc between carrier a is 60 and carrier b is 20.

I thought the 60xxx PRLs were on the WinMob Treos.

But my PRL was older so I just dialed *2, and got a response that Sprint had detected my phone (700p) needed an update, and please stay on the line until the update was completed. After the update, I now apparently have PRL 40410. !!!???

Let soft reset and see what happens....

I am also at 40410. I believe I updated about 3 weeks ago. Live in the Southeastern part of the country.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but what is a PRL and what is it used for? Why should it be updated and why should you try and have it at the latest version?

Updated from -29 to -31 the other day. I was about to scrap Sprint because my 700p latched on a roaming tower at every opportunity and wouldn't let go. Now if I can only keep that kind of connection to Sprint towers.

One thing moving from 20227 to 20232 does: it allows access to 3G in nTelos markets in west-central/western VA and WV where they've launched it. Except the catch is, you can't get the update from within those markets.

I'm in Charlottesville, VA, and asked for a flag Thursday after receiving a used 700p I bought off eBay and only getting 1xRTT with PRL 20227. On my old RAZR I'd been on EV-DO for 3 months or so. I got the flag 3 or 4 times, called *2 after each time, and was still stuck.

Saturday, I went over to Harrisonburg (a Shentel market) and noticed the EV-DO arrows on-screen for the first time. So I called *2, and this time got the "OTA Programming Success" message and 20232 PRL. When I went home that night, we were flying at EV-DO speed.
