My red Centro reminds me too much of my ex girlfriend! Anyone know if the black housings are available somewhere and if it is replaceable like on other versions fo the treo? I've replaced my 700p housing twice this way for scratches but had no color choices.

    UPDATE:

Great for Treo parts, this is where I got my previous 700p parts here: no centro parts yet

    Centro digitizer screen available here.

I was not aware there was housings available for the 700. I would be interested in getting a new housing for my centro. I don't like cases and it is pretty scratched up now. Where did you get the case for the 700? you could ask them if they are coming out with a centro housing.

Yes, that would be good to know. I would like to be able to replace my housing as well.

Check ebay for broken centros. They usually go for cheap & you'll know for sure the housing will work then.
I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by fleeing the scene of the accident!

Maybe I'm just overly cautious, but I can't imagine taking the risk of trashing my expensive phone just to change the color. The Treo isn't designed with user replaceable shells like some other phones.

I'm out of my mind. But feel free to leave a message.

Sure, you risk voiding your warranty, but with the torx tool, it is easily done if you have a little patience. A search of the web will quickly yield step by step directions. It is designed to be taken apart by people, not like an ipod. I've done it successfully 3 times to replace damaged or scratched cases. But, as with all things in life, your results may vary.

Here is where you can find the step by step directions for taking it apart. I'm willing to try it, just for a color change, just have to find a phone in the appropriate color to exchange with:

I still think this is a less risky alternative.

You can custom make your own design.

The videos are quite good. However, I'd strongly recommend to remove the battery before taking the Treo apart.

    Cheers.
