    Does everything I'm looking for:

Multiple apps assigned to one button (although I'd like to be able to scroll through them instead of bringing up a list).

    Press and hold functionality.

    Freeware.

    Clean interface.

Unfortunately, it seems as though support for the Centro hasn't caught up yet, as opt + key doesnt seem to work.

Also, when assigning multiple programs to a key, a menu is brought up listing those programs but pressing the same key again does not cancel the menu list (centro problem maybe?).

Does anybody have another solution that supports the centro?

Right now i'm using launch anywhere, it does the popup menu thing and the menus are very customizable (submenus, icons, special items, etc)

i had one called mobile launch that was nice and simple (hard buttom pops up a list of apps and you push the hard button multiple times to choose the app you want) but since the name is so generic i haven't been able to find it again. any search for mobile launch palm right now just gives you a bunch of at&t stuff

Here's another one, duh button launcher:

    hard button extender:

there are a ton of programs out there with this functionality. it's just a matter of finding the one that suits you best.

Aardquick available from palmgear.com does a good job for button assignments. I have not looked for Centro compatibility, but it works well on the 650 so it should work on the Centro.http://www.pocketgear.com/en_US/html...86&sf=48190044
It's not working on my Centro AND they are not responding to my tech support request so this one falls off the recommended list unless someone here finds a way to make it work. too bad since it worked well on the 650.

A 2nd vote for Aardquick. I haven't tried it on a Centro either, but it works great on my 700p

the install (5 prc's) scared me so i didn't try that one. does anyone have screenshots of it? this thread just inspired me to dump launchanywhere and find something less flashy

I think that you'll find screenshots on the download site. It's simple and stable.

You install the main .prc file, and then one for each button you want to remap. It doesn't work properly with the Home button on my 700P (thanks to Palm's screwy reprogramming, so I only installed 4 prcs. I've had no issues with it at all. My 700p is extremely stable, so I wouldn't worry about Aardquick.

TypeRight does this and also allows you to dial contacts or launch websites from anywhere (assigned to any hardbutton/keyboard key or through 'Quick Bar' which pulls up everything and has a pretty smart type to search functionality).

cool i'll give it a shot, the directions in the txt in the download didn't really explain that (or i didn't read thoroughly enough)

    thanks again!

Would love to have a way to remap the side button on my AT&T Centro. Currently there is no way to change/remap that button from "push to talk". I HATE IT. Its AT&T's way of pushing their useless product.

The best button launcher IMO is quickswitch by standalone. Due to lack of sales Standalone stopped updating the app in 06' I beleive. It technically isn't supported by the centro but v1.52 works well if you lock and protect it with tealscan. I can't live without this app it is the only one I have used for years. I don't even have to go to my launcher because I know where each app is on each key.

    FYI Centro users,

The centro already does offer global hotkey programming. When you set a hotkey for a favorites button (contact, app, webpage), it will work globally (works in blazer, default msg app, etc. but not sure about -every- app).

So I set H to call home, i can just hold H anywhere, G for googlemaps, etc.

So for centro users, its really only useful to find an app to program the hardbuttons, but some might even argue this is unnecessary since all the rest of it is set up quite nicely.

Just wanted to be able to make it my own (and have a list, haha).

Thanks for your inputs so far.

Has anyone gotten Aardquick to work on the Centro?
