    All,

GoTreo has just launched a new service offering to address the frustration Palm users are facing when they try to get help for software stability issues on their devices!

The goal is to provide live 1 on 1 support for software stability problems you may face on your Centro or Treo devices. There are far too many people spending hours upon hours talking to help desks where the staff hardly knows how to spell Palm. The typical answer when talking to these help desks is: "Do a hard reset and see if the problem disappears!" Then after you have lost your data, you are sent to the phone store to get a replacement device that is typically refurbished. Then you go home and spend hours more putting your data back on your device and often times the problem returns! At the end of the day, the vast majority of these replacements are not needed because the problems are generally software related! SafeGuard LIVE! hopes to stop the insanity!

SafeGuard LIVE! is a new help desk where you have direct access to the expert staff at GoTreo to help you through your software problems. This access is either live phone calls, IM sessions and/or email access. What ever it takes to solve your device stability issues.

You never know when you are going to run into problems, but with SafeGuard LIVE! you have the staff at GoTreo ready and waiting to help!

Jeff, you might add an option for One time troubleshooting at a premium price. On the other hand, I guess they could always just buy a month of service.

    Thanks for the post!

That's why I made it a monthly service offering. Use it once or have it available for when you need it. There will be no fund verification delays if you are an active subscriber. The One time usage model would introduce a service delay as I would need to verify funds before delivering the service. This seemed to be too much overhead to put my users through when they need help ASAP.

I have well over 100 apps installed on my phone and sd card...
my phone works fine and has no conflicts what so ever..
when I install this app I get nothing but frozen screens, and constant reboots randomly.

I thought this app was supposed to prevent and stop that kind of thing.

eh I have no use for it. My Centro works better without it.
It jus causes problems and LAG for me since it runs in the backround.

its a memory hog and thats not something I can afford to have while runnin other apps.
Palm devices are lacking in that area enough.

And I installed the newest version.

The slowness is actually caused by the Palm Crash Monitor. Simply turn off this monitor and the speed will return. But this slowdown is actually an indication that you are running applications that are using the HEDE Palm event notification to run in the background. This event notification is a very resource intensive notification that causes applications to run ALL the time. So SafeGuard is really indicating that you may want to take a look to see what applications you are running on your device and what the performance cost is for each application. So turning off the Palm Crash Monitor is just fine. This just means that SafeGuard may miss the cause of the next crash. But if you start to have issues, simply turn the crash monitor back on for a while. When you install SafeGuard, whe wizard tells you that turning on the Palm Crash Monitor may cause a slow down on your device. But this option if found in the PROGRAM OPTIONS screen and can be changed at any time.
