Under troubleshooting settings, check force AVRCP. check everything in that menu except for the one mentioning 700p.

So if you do a hard reset on your phone.
and install the 755/sprint cd on a brand new pc....
will the phone have the orignal settings or would it still have the update???

Once you've updated the ROM, it will be there forever, even after hard resets. It doesn't matter what you do with your disc.

Basically your phone after a hard reset and new cd will be "stock" as it was when you first purchased it - with one exception - the upgrade in rom will be there forever and no amount of hard resets will bring it back to the old rom - in other words the rom update is permanent.

I get the idea that its better NOT to bother with this rom upgrade with all the interest in "going back".

    Is it really that bad?

A friend just purchased a 755p 2 weeks ago and did the new 1.07 rom update and has a dozen or so apps and his is rock solid - he claims its quicker - after playing with it seems fine. And only in some areas not as fast as my 755p with Lightspeed enabled. My is rock solid with rom 1.04.

I think it will vary with different phones and software cobinations that you use, but the update will probably work with more phones than not.

If it weren't for some of my apps that have upgrades that may not play well together, I might have tried the new rom upgrade - but my 755p works so well now and works exactly the way it should with all my apps installed, that I will stay with the old 1.04 rom until I need it.

:^/ After lots of research, I've gotten my Palm Tréo 755p (Sprint) to accept Cricket Internet. Now I'm quite happy, but I'm reluctant to perform the firmware upgrade for fear of my newly unlocked Tréo getting locked again.

I'm confident that I can re-unlock the Internet, but what about the voice settings? Will this upgrade overwrite the ESN, MSID and so on? Would I have to pay my local shop to flash the PRL again?

I can't answer your first question, but the answer to the second is no. I was able to restore my updated PRL by simply dialing *2 and having them flag my account for PRL update. Then after you finished with the ROM update and reset, you call *2 again and a message will come on that your PRL is being updated. Then, presto, you're done.

Ok... been one day since this update. While SAG works (even 1.17 but i recommend using 1.18), my BT connection gets disconnected more often, more choppy since the update. I wonder if this update weakens the BT radio or something like that. My audio wasnt this choppy before. Choppiness happens when the phone is in my leather holster on my waist.

I think 1.06 was the most stable

Just updated via desktop. Easy to update, but very time consuming to reinstall/register all my apps. Also it brought back some deleted apps and datebook entries for no good reason when I synced. Hope it was worth the trouble. BTW did not see any of their favorite recipes, but am still looking.

Try Audio Gateway version 1.19. It is working great with my setup. I do have to put a check in the " Force AVRCP connection " to get the headset controls to function but all is good.

When it is set to enabled, audio does not play through the speaker, which suggests to me that audio is being sent elsewhere in the device; just not successfully to the headset. I have done all this testing with a freshly hard-reset device, with the only modification being the pairing of the headset and the installation of the overlay mentioned earlier.
    Any more luck, Conrad?

I also had the PRL 60611, but after the update it went down to 60610. I guess I got to get them to flag my account again...

Pre-update was 60610 (PRL from purchase in Aug.'07). Post-update (SD card method) now 60608. Palm can't even get that right.

Is the PRL the same with USB method?
