Constant resets since the update, especially when my Jabra JX10 series 2 is paired with Bluetooth. Re-installed twice. Wish I could go back to 1.04

Probably want to make sure you have the latest PRL also after the update.

bluetooth problems are not very reassuring... thats mainly whats keeping me from upgrading.

Hm, according to some posts at sprintusers, the Centro does not support Rev A. why would it get 1500k/s? can anyone do a ATI1 (in hyperterminal or CSOnline) (remove the esn) and tell me what the modem chipset is? I know its different than the 755p and 700p because its using MEID.

I am also waiting for the aGPS update for google maps for the 755p. hopefully the 700p users can use it too. (since they both use the same qualcomm "modem"). Now I have to find the PDE IP for Bell/Telus.. nobody seems to know it. (Even verizon one no one knows it)

Well from what I have read rev A really only benefits upload speed not really download I mean it does I guess but only about a meg more for download isn't as big as a full meg of upload... at the current EV-DO speeds have peek rates at up to 2Mb/s for download so what I said makes complete sense. I was pretty shocked that he was getting that speed (speeds where checked while tethered and used both dslreports and speedtest.net).

    Hi All,

I went from 1.06 to 1.07 and now the DTMF tones have RE-APPEARED!!!!

    Arghhhhhhh!!!!!

I know a few people here mentiond that you cannot go back after a firmware upgrade.

Do we know that to be 100% true?

    No way to go back???????

If we can compare the 755/700p (M6500C) modem (also found in some blackberry), to Centro (unknown modem). then we could draw some solution

With QXDM you can have it tell you what network (0 or A) you are on. but you need a serial cable to do that... I don't have Centro in Canada so can't help yet.

looks like the most of the problems after the update are concerning bluetooth specially with regards to bluetooth wireless headsets. we all know that the 755p doesn't support AD2P profile.

You can go back, IF someone extracts and sends you their r2sd copy of the ROM, then extract the 'rom' part, zip it and md5 it and put it back in romupdater.bprc..

Have mine installed with the new firmware, works fine. No IBM Java here, though.

I am getting a ton of resets after the update. Better stability my ***.

Strange! I've experience chronic resets since installing 1.07 and each time I enter ##377# to see what's causing it, I see:

    System Error Log

    A crash occurred on 1/5/08 at 4:06pm while runnin g"<unknown application>":

    HcdRequest.c,Line:408,AOE Fatal Assert

I just hard reset again and immediately entered #377# and low and behold the same error message. I wonder if 1.07 has a hard coded error in the firmware.

Anybody else with 1.07 care to see if they get the same error.

Man, I would so appreciate it if someone smarter than me would create a 1.04 re-installer.

Should try ResetDoctor to see if it can give more verbose output on the app that is causing the reset.

Might just be something that you need to lock into memory that isn't by default.

I have a lot more resets after the upgrade. I thought it would improve stability?

I have an issue with bluetooth after the update, it is about as major as it can get because everytime I try to open the bluetooth program the whole phone crashes and resets. Reset Doctor describes the problem like this:

    --INFO--
    Systems Crash
    While Running Bluetooth
    "SystemMgr.c,
    Line:6919, SyslinkerStub():Failed
    to load the shared
    ---------------------------------
that's all I can see. (the message cuts off after the word 'shared'.

Well I must say that this is a pretty shoddy update. My phone has been resetting during calls lately which is new for me, making it completely unreliable and I can't enter the bluetooth screen at all. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks, is this something that Sprint could send me a new phone for, what are my options with this? Ideally I would resolve the issue on my own.
I have been a loyal Palm user for years and hanging on as long as I can however I think this will prob. be my last one. A shame seeing as I have spent so much on software and accessories but if basic call reliability and changing programs has become a 'fingers crossed, please don't reset' type of situation I will have to move on to superior technology.
At this point I feel very comfortable with my Treo, I love the apps and I can do way more with it than any iphone user can hands down. The only problem is that I am powerless when I am dealing with resets all the time.
Wake up Palm, where is the problem? Is it your programmers and engineers? You need new and better talent, you have so many loyal users and you are losing us in droves.

anyway that's my position on it, if anyone can help with this bluetooth reset situation I'd appreciate it.
    thanks

I had the same problem. You have corrupt db. I did a hard reset and used Resco Backup to install one app @ a time, checking BT after each install. Something like dbscan might fix your problem too.
Visor Deluxe->Visor Edge (Upgraded for $100.00 just by giving them the Serial # of my Visor Deluxe plus I got to keep the Deluxe. Those were the days!)-> Palm M-505->M-515->Tungsten T->Zire 72->Treo 650->->Treo 700P->Treo 755P. Plus various replacements. 8130 Pearl....Sorry

well twitch3, you helped me a great deal.
I must say, this last night was a learning experience. I did a hard reset, and instead of doing a full restore I restored my apps one by one using resco backup (I can never appreciate resco backup enough. if you are not using it you should be).
after the hard reset bluetooth worked fine, which proves that it was a corrupt db somewhere. I restored my apps one by one, (and DID NOT restore system files, just apps), and lo and behold, my Treo is running FAST, stable, and bluetooth is running great.

Now it seems to me, that I have been doing full system restores from Resco Backup, and this is how I did my migration from the Treo 650 to the 755p.
I did this using a full restore, which even brought my system files across.
I can only imagine that this might have been the conflict, with the new firmware, some of those old system files finally lost compatibility.

Anyway, this has got to be the best spring cleaning I can imagine, doing a hard reset, and reinstalling apps only, avoiding system files. I would recommend that anyone having stability issues after the firmware update try this method. Some of the system files you are running may be incompatible with the new firmware.

thanks t3 as well as forum members. very happy treo 755p user.
