    Hello all,

Does Google Maps use data? Like the internet or whatnot?

I don't want to pay $15 a month for web that I won't even use. However, I find Google Maps useful so far.

You would be surprised at how you might use it once you start looking. . . . . .

Email requires the data service, as well. Not sure about chat. I think text messaging is part of the phone service at a per message cost or a flat fee for a certain number or unlimited.

    Cheers, Perry.

That's true, if you do chat via text. You can also download an IM app for the Centro; that'll use data. If you use data much at all (whether email, web, GoogleMaps, getting an unlimited plan makes sense. If it's either-or on data vs. text, a bigger texting plan may be the better fit.
