I have the latest Nero 10 suite. The default setting in Recode creates mp4 (H.264) with ACC audio. The files don't play in Kinoma or TCPMP 0.72 RC1.

Anyone here using Nero Recode (or some other Nero application) to convert video for playing on the Treo (POS)?

I have Nero 7 Suite and use Vision to Export the video for TCPMP. The TV Tuner on my WinXP MCE PC is WinTV-HVR 950, and I haven't found any (free) options that will re-encode the HDTV.

I usually watch the movies on my 755p,but they work well on my TX, too.

Anyway, I'm no expert at this, but I do get it to work. I select Nero Vision 4, Make Movie, Create a New Group, Browse for Media and Add to Project, click Export, and use the Nero Digital template. Video Bitrate: 273 kbit/s, Profile: standard, Aspect ration: 4:3, Resolution: 352 x 288, Audio format: Stereo, Framerate: 15 fps, Encoding mode: Fast Encoding (1-Pass). The output is an .mp4 file.

Like I said, it works for me. I'd be grateful if anyone can help me improve this!

    Thanks. I'll try Nero Vision.

I bet it is the ACC audio in the file created by Recode that is the problem. I haven't found a way to change that setting (the user interface of Nero modules is horrible). Recode has profiles for PSP and iPOD. I haven't tried experimenting with those.

Finally, I have TCPMP on the SD card. I suspect that the plugins have to be in RAM so that the application can load them as needed.

I hate the small size of RAM on the Treo 650!!

The plugins can be on the card. Go to Advanced options and check 'Always check the SD card for plugins'.

Sorry, I updated my post. BTW, if you go to www.tinyurl.com, there's an option you can set to preview the URLs. Whenever you select a tinyurl, you'll be redirected to the tinyurl website where you can see the url.

If need be, you might also try Mp4cam2avi. It converts the audio file to mp3 and puts everything in an avi container (video file isn't changed).
