    Hi,

Please do try to copy them again.

    Thanks.

Yeah and then the other skins that NachoB and mcentreville have made. I have done a screenshot so you can see. Will post it in a minute.

Penny, I also use Resco Explorer.

I originally created a folder and called it TAKEphONE and placed all my skins in there. Then, when I Shimon made the latest update, I noticed that moving the skins (via TAKEphONE) to the card, it creates another folder "Skins". So, within TAKEphONE, I moved all my skins to my card, (which of course places them in the Skins folder) and then deleted the skins that I had moved in the first place (via Resco Explorer).

Basically what I'm saying is that move all your skins to TAKEphONE, and then move the skins back to the card while in TAKEphONE so the can get put in the right folder.

Mine seems to be working ok.

I originally had the skins in the Palm folder of my sd card. I moved one skin using TakePhone. I then transfered the rest using Resco explorer to the correct folder TakePhone/Skins but they still do not show up.

I may just have to move them back to TakePhone one at a time and then back again. YIKES

    Hi,

    This shouldnt be so.

You know what............ now that I think about it..........

I DID have all the skins stored on my card, for safe keeping. However, just this past weekend, I re-downloaded all the skins again directly to TAKEphONE. And then, I moved them via TAKEphONE into the Skins folder. And then deleted all those skins that I had originally moved to my card. I never moved them using Resco Explorer into the Skins folder, I just deleted them.

That doesn't seem to make any sense whether they're moved via R.E., or via TAKEphONE. So I'm at a loss too, Penny. I only had 18 to move via TAKEphONE, and 18 to delete.

I moved all the clock skins using TAKEphONE, as well.

    Well what I did was

    1. Deleted the skins that I originally moved Using RE to SD card then to TakePhone/Skins folder

    2. Reinstalled the skins to device

    3. Moved them to Card using TakePhone

    Now they are all there.

I don't see why it would make a difference either but I am sure Shimon will figure it out.

Just tried it again. Using Resco Explorer went into TakePhone selected to move a skin from TakePhone to TakePhone/Skins on Sd card (It was moved successfully) Then went back into TakePhone/Display/Skins/On Card and it isn't there.

    Hi,

Just tried that myself, and it works ok...

Can you give me a step-by-step - including file names, and how you do the move action ?

Ok here is how I did it.

    1. I went into Resco File Explorer in RAM Choose TakePhone

    2. I choose NachB's 101 Dalmations skin (tap and hold choose either copy or cut ***I have used both***

    3. Then go to Card (B) Palm/Programs/TakePhone/Skins then Paste

    4. Make sure it is copied/moved correctly

    5. Then go to TakePhone app/Display/Skins/On card (Not there)

So what am I doing wrong?

I would just like to say Thanks again for making the copy to card feature. I might not be as skin happy as alot of others but have 3 that I swap between often and like being able to free up some memory is definately a plus. One question though. Can the preview images be seen while the skins are on the card?

    Nothing.

Just did it, and noticed for some reason, Resco Explorer copies the file but gives it the extension .PRC and not .PDB (which is what TAKEphONE expects - since this is a database file, and not an application).

    Hi,

I knew this would come up.
Displaying previews of skin files from the card will probably be real slow.
Not sure it will be worth the added code...

Ok, so wonder if I can change the ext. and it work? hmmmm lets see.

Ok, if I change the ext. from .prc to .pdb even though it warns me that changing it may cause undesired effects it works.

See I knew Shimon would figure out what was wrong. Should have noticed the file thing myself but didn't.
  15.    #495
Maybe we should report this to Resco...

Maybe... it is strange that it changes the file ext.
  17. #497
Well, I moved all the skins and clock skins (except for the one I am using currently) from the RAM to the respective TakePhone folder and sub folders on the card with Resco Explorer and ALL of them show up in TakePhone.

I also moved the skins from another folder on my card that were not installed into the RAM to the TakePhone folder and sub folders and ALL of them show up in TakePhone.

My TakePhone skins folder is almost 3 megs. Thanks Shimon for this update....

Your TakePhone skins folder should in the Programs folder on your card.....

  18. #498
Shoot, I forgot to mention that I used RX Multi Selection function to move bunches of skins at the same time.

RX did not change any of the file extensions....So RX worked as it should.....

  19. #499
I'm glad Shimon figured it out for you Penny. I re-moved some skins the same way you did, and it did change the ext. Then I tried it the way treotraveler did it, and it did NOT change the ext. That's really strange.

Also, I have a question........... the ability to move the skins to/from the card is great! I saved 2% memory! But, if I move "skin #1" from my card to TAKEphONE, and then decide I want to change to a different skin, again, I can move "skin #2" from my card to TAKEphONE, but I can't move "skin #1" back to my card. So, if I want to free up memory, then I have to delete "skin #1". Couldn't this potentially corrupt a skin by moving it from the card, then having to delete it from the device?

    Am I making any sense?
  20. #500
    Hey Del

Yes you are making sense. TakePhone does not move the skins back and forth like PalmRevolt moves it's skins.

What it does, is write (copies) the skin from the card to the device. The skin that was written to the device, stays in the TakePhone skin folder on the card.

When I want to change skins, I go to the TP skins folder from TP, and write another skin to the device, select it and delete the previous skin that was used from the device with TP.

It seems a little strange to do it this way, but that seems to be the way it works for now.
