palmary clock for example has a version that is specificially for treos... u think if u stripped takephone with all the options that are not necessary on treos and make a treo version.. that would make the app smaller and run a little quicker on the treo? or the amount of work to do that isnt really worth the effort being that the gain of speed wouldnt be that much...?

or possibly dividing takephone and making it a two file application... in which one for example could run from sd card.. like a resources file....taking the heavy load off the file on RAM

i am sure u thought of all this already .. just throwing it out there

    Hi,

    Thanks for your efforts.

I have a large list of things to do/try:

    1. Moving all the tips (online help) into a speperate database.

    2. Moving all the prefs handling (including dialog boxed, etc.) into a seperate application. (also possibly changing the interface to one similar to the system "Prefs" - with 5way navigation, etc.).

    3. Removing support for other devices - I am doing it gradually - removing old devices such as the Samsung old smartphones, Kyocera, etc.

    4. Removing support for non-phone devices (dialing via IrDa/Bluetooth).

These will take a lot of efforts, so I am doing it gradually.

If you do add this, please have a preference for it. I rarely even use the touchscreen. The 5 way is so much easier.

That sounds great. I like the way your constantly working on the Takephone app to make it better. You will definately be getting my money for 2-3 Treos!

I'll go re-check my post.........boss is not in the office today, so it's not like I have 'work' to do..........hee hee

    Hi,

Problem is there is some sort of a problem with the voicemail reporting mechanism - it is not always reported accurately by the system.

    Shimon,
The new Send feature is great. I've used it several times since you introduced it.

Anyway you can include an email address to be allowed as a choice to send?

Ok........I posted this before about aTakephone bug dialing the first person assigned on the ibar. (farthest left on screen)

I was finally able to duplicate it multiple times. Here is the scenario. If when a call ends I push the "OK" button on the call ended popup for some reason the push is not registered until after the poup disappears and the hang up buttons disapear, and finally registers when back in the Takephone app. Now the first ibar square sits in the same place you push the ok call eneded popup.(when the ibar is at the bottom of the screen)

Is there a fix for this delay reaction?

I tried and sucessfully duplicated on both a 700p and a Centro.

Can you simply not hit the OK button on the call ended popup? I don't have that popup on my 700p so I'm not sure what it is. I'm assuming if you don't, the phone will automatically switch back to takephone without your interaction.

I've had this similar problem, but it's not a bug or a serious problem, but more because I think it's because of "me". I've noticed that if I accidentally push "hang-up" toooooo long, or hit it twice (or even use the center button to hang up..... holding down toooooo long), then it'll pop over to the first person in my i-Bar. To make sure that I don't accidentally dial that person, I have my i-Bar set to 'prompt'.

Just a soft easy tap on the "hang up" or easy push of the center button works.

You could also try this: Go to the preference menu and then select Treo, enable the "Keyguard" option. This will prevent you from double clicking or dialing another contact without your permission.
