I used my 680 to log onto and surf the internet using the number from my home internet provider (e.g. SBC Yahoo, or AOL), but have been unable to do this since a hard reset. I'm surprised I've not read about people doing this. It is dial-up, almost free, you still pay your home internet provider, and slow, but definitely cheaper than paying T-mobile internet plans.

Does anyone access the internet using this dial-up method? If so how do you do it?

It uses minutes, so I wouldn't do it.

Sure you can tether (that's what its called). But unless you have a tethering plan (beyond unlimited data) on your account, you may have to pay extra data charges if you get caught.

I'm not too concerned about the minutes, as I have 3000 minutes and don't come close to using them. Again, if anyone knows how to connect to the internet using a "dial-up" number please tell me how you've done it.

That sort of data connection is very very slow.. I think 14kbit.
