Many years ago, I owned a Visor. Long after this Visor was gone (and I was without any PDA), the Palm folder from the Visor remained on my Mac. When I got my Treo 680 and did my first HotSync, doh, I wound up restoring my old Visor junk to the Treo. It's been a few months, and I've still got some vestigial crud from the old days on there. I'd like to remove it.

Can anyone suggest what to delete? I've purged from the following list anything I'm sure is Treo specific. I shouldn't have any 3rd party apps (I do, though, like and use DTG and Versamail)

Wouldn't it be easier to do a hard reset and delete the Visor stuff before the initial Hotsync.

Sure. First, though, I need to know what stuff is Visor stuff. Hence this thread.

I frankly would not want to look at another list. Are the contacts and datebook entries ok and functioning properly? If so, my suggestion is to sync the device, rename the backup folder to something like "OLD BACKUP", execute a hard reset, and start over again - that means a bit more work, but everything will be just fine. Before doing this, getting the latest releases needs to be done.

It's not just files that add clutter. There are also entries in the SavedPreferences.prc and UnsavedPreferences.prc. I get confused about what's in each of them, but I there are things in there like registration information, what's been installed, etc.

I would also recommend a hard reset, followed by a reinstall of the apps you want to continue using. Get a copy of NVBackup to make backups along the way, and store the backup sets on your primary computer.

I'm not confused about how to backup. I'm confused about what to back up.

back up everything. make a hard reset on the treo. sync with the option to overwrite your datebook, contacts and so on on the treo, but do not overwrite the system on the treo. Just sync your date (its a preference of the hotsync or in your case missing sync?). thats it.

Does anybody know how to restore blazer bookmarks from backup?

Never mind...just remembered. Create fresh backup folder, put only those files in it, then synch.
