My 700p used to just dim the screen while on a call but my 755p turns the screen off after the Prefs -> Power -> "Auto-off after:" setting times out (options are 15sec to 3min.) The very next setting in Power is "On a call, dim backlight after:" (30sec to 5min). This indicates to me that the auto-off feature should suspend while on a call. I'm using Takephone 7.50. The only way to wake up the screen is to press the phone button which takes you to the main Takephone screen which shows status of "in a call" requiring me to make 2 key strokes to rejoin the call just to be able to unmute myself. Very frustrating. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

The irony...I don't have this issue with my 755 however I have been searching for a way to purposely cause this to happen. I would like for my screen to turn off during a call to prevent accidental keypresses.

    Hi,

Dont have the 755p, but I think there may be an option in your built-in PHONE application preferences to "turn screen off during a call" or something like that.

You're right it does disconnect the call. I'm looking for any key that will wake up the display so I can take the call off of mute. I'd prefer my display to just dim but stay active as my 700p did.

I have a 755, and use TAKEphONE, and my screen dims according to the preferences I set in Prefs -> Power.

While there is an option to turn the screen off after so many minutes of inactivity of PDA use, there is no built in option to turn the screen completely off during a phone call.

I actually would like for my screen to go off or lock during a call with the ability to toggle the screen lock on and off without going into Prefs each time.

    egn,

Yours is acting as I expected mine should with the Prefs settings. I'm suspecting Phone Technician may be taking control of the display which by the way has the option your looking for. http://hobbyist-software.com/technician-more.php

    Cool - thanks!

In my experience if you just have the brightness one notch up from the bottom, the light will completely go out when it is set to "dim" This makes sense as it can not get any dimmer at this point without going out.

    Your mileage may vary.

I disabled Phone Technician and the display worked as expected (as set up in Prefs). When I added it back the problem reoccured. I'll have to figure out why PT is causing this behavior.
