Wanted to know if it was possible to use a 16Gb SDHC card with a Treo 680?

Will the 680 recognize it right away??

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I was in Radio Shack just the other day and saw an 8 gig SD card-- they wanted $160 bucks for it.

I bought a 2 gig SD card there for $20.

why on earth you would buy a card at radioshack at their horribly marked up prices?

go to new egg, you can buy an 8gb for like 50$

There are different access speeds on different 16GB cards. Class 6 is the fastest, Class 2 slowest. Google for an explanation of the exact speed differences. I haven't seen a posting here yet from anyone testing the difference in Classes of cards in actual Treo applications.

Also, check the other threads for discussion about an apparent glitch in the Palm OS in inaccurately displaying the memory on the card. Not serious, but you should be aware of it before you use the card.

maybe they are ditching the production of lower class SDHC cards, I sure hope so. my class 2 SD 2GB card is slow as heck and I want a Class 6 4 or 8GB SDHC card asap.

I have bought two transcend 8gb sdhc cards and both work great!!

My brother is using my class 2 on a 700p but I am recommending that he buy a class 6 once he is done taking it through its paces.

I will prob not buy any other 16gb sdhc card.
Now it's the WAITING GAME: a GSM Palm Pre
    T680 (COPPER) + Cingular = FUN!!
    My T650 & 6230b and NX70 are retired... =(

Do we have any news for when 32GB SD Cards will come out? I'd like to buy one card and store everything I need on it. I can probably get all my music on a 16GB, but I'd have very little room to spare... So I'd prefer a 32GB . Not that it'll be cheap...

You young whipper-snappers, I remember spending $70 hard earned dollars for a 1MB disc platter...

Anyone have a line on 4GB regular SD cards, high speed?
