I bought a 2gig Sandisk card for my centro and it works great. Thinking extra space would be good, I picked up a 4 gig Kingston class 4 card.

It blows - slower than sludge. Photos take 13 seconds before you can save, trashes take almost as long. Back-ups in Back-Up Buddy take forever.

I have tried formatting the card in the centro and on my desktop. Same awful results.

Do I have a bad card or is this typical on the larger mini SD cards?

    Thanks.

The 4 gig Kingston has very slow write times on the Centro. That's the card I have. I just tried it and it takes about 8-9 seconds to save a picture on the card...but it also took about 5 seconds to save a picture to RAM. Tis is probably the only area so far where the Centro isn't superior to the 700p that it replaced. Deletes seemed fast though.

    Thanks qwalls,

Reads and writes are both painfully slow for me - I can't use a card this slow.

    Would love suggestions for alternatives.

Are there any benchmark tests between SD and SDHC? I mean the dig. cam seems like an easy thing to test but then why would different companies with the same specs vary or maybe they aren't the same? I just returned some SDs for SDHC and now I wonder if that really makes a difference? Now I have to find out what my new Canon dig. cam takes?
