    Okay...

I bought chattermail a while ago when I had a treo 700p.. I upgraded to 755p and installed chattermail again with the same reg information. Well boom after so many weeks I get a lil red Register thing at the bottom of my screen..

So I emailed the company.. no replies back. I'm kinda getting very upset b/c I use this program for business. I dont feel like I should dish out more money when I already paid.

This makes me want to stop buying apps and start using keygens and stuff. Because honest people always get shafted! BLAH!

Anyone have any ideas of WHY this is doing this? And any WAYS (right now ANY WAYS wink wink) to fix this?

Are you sure that the registration was successful? This sounds like it stayed on the trial license. When you reinstalled Chatter did you install the same version you were using previously or did you installer a later (or latest) version? There were some version upgrades that did require a new license. Simply installing Chatter on a new device should not require a new license, so far as I recall.

Um, well, cool the jets. It's not their fault you upgraded. Give them a chance to get back to you. And while we're on the topic, which "them" are you talking about? You do realize that Chatter was purchased by Palm over a year ago, right? If you went to www.chatteremail.com it would have politely redirected you to palm.com. And although you will find a link to it (and a useful FAQ) from Palm's pages, you might also consider chatting on the Chatter forums: http://chatteremailforum.com/index.p...orum&Itemid=71

No. Contact either Palm or the Chatter forums and people there will be able to help you.

Where was your original registration code sent? If you used a gmail account, or something else with plenty of storage, you should be able to find your old registration code and enter it.

    Good luck.

Did you change your profile name? I think that the Chatter reg code is tied into your Treo's use name.

Exacto...I had the same registration issue with mine. It ended up being the difference in my Profile and my user ID. My User ID had a space between both words where as my profile was missing the space causing my registration code not to take leaving me stuck in trial mode. I contacted Palm and they fixed the issue and gave me another reg code.

I've checked this 500xs lol... still no go.. I've contacted palm... I've gotten no replies. I'm kinda over it. This is pissin me off and I wouldn't mind dishing out $25 (like i already did) but I'm sick and tired of seeing my fellow co-workers hacking programs and wat not and then I pay for my stuff and this is what happens. They use key gens and hacks and they never have a problem.

I've tried EVERYTHING to fix this.. no go.

One thing you can try in the meantime is to install the *exact* version that was current when you purchased it, register THAT version on your 755 and see if it's successfully registered. Then you can try updating/upgrading to the latest version and see if it stays registered.

I don't have any experience with Chattermail, but have noticed that other applications (especially games and such) will puke up the ability to register the current version - but DO allow the code to work on the program version that was current when purchased. Once registered with the old program it may update to the current version just fine.

The fact that Palm bought him out just means more bureaucracy to get support, and the possibility of problems for "pre-Palm" registration codes. Years ago I paid about $70 or so for a "Small Talk" license, and since Concept Kitchen sold it to Landware they've essentially dropped Japanese support, added colorization, and not much else - my purchased key's no good except on the original app I bought on floppies...

I understand your frustration and the desire to simplify things with a keygen, but hopefully you can get the support you need to get your purchased key functional.
