Just curious. I dropped my phone last week and ever since it hasn't been functioning completely right. I'm not sure if its because of the fall or just a random crash.

If you've filed an insurance claim, what was it for?

I filed with Asurion (Sprint) about 2 weeks ago to replace my 700P. The only option they gave was a blue 755P.

I was happy with that as before I called I was hoping for a blue 755.

    Yeah, if I file a claim, I wouldn't mind a 755 either.

2 weeks ago I filed a claim on my wife's 650. We were sent a refurb blue 755P. There was no battery backplate. The second shipment was a brand new blue 755P. It couldn't read any MiniSD card that I tried. The third shipment was another NIB blue 755P. They did, however, ask if we wanted red or blue.

FWIW, mine was a new blue one (755p) without issues (so far).

If you actually want a Centro I'm sure they would probably be more likely to give you a new Centro than a 755p. Then again they might just have the Centro priced to sell.

There are things I like about the Centro and things I like about the 755. When the rep offered a blue 755, I didn't push it (to get a Centro). If a Centro was offered, I wouldn't have objected to that , however.

    I went from a 650 to a 755p with sprint.

BUT and a HUGE BUT when I got my first bill, I had a $60 data charge. My previous plan had "unlimited vision." Somehow, Sprint figures that EVDO is a different plan altogether. I was *REQUIRED* to sign up for an extra $20 a month to cover unlimited data. I'm still pissed off about that. I think I'll shop verizon's plans here soon. The catch is that when I went to the sprint store for a replacement phone I was ASSURED that my plan wouldn't change. Typical Sprint...

So, if you file a claim, you can't change your mind, its a done deal, correct? Also, how often can you reasonably file a claim? I'm on the fence about this right now and want to consider all factors before making a claim.

If the replacement phone were defective, is there the 30 day window or would I have to essentially file another claim?

    Thanks,

    Rick

It's my understanding that you have to wait 30 days after the original phone purchase to make a claim, that you get 2 claims a year, and that there is a $50.00 deductable with each claim.

I paid nothing. Haven't filed a claim in over a year. FWIW.

I'm one of the few that would actually prefer a 755 over the Centro. Sure, I would like the new software and slightly better speed, but I prefer the form factor of the Treo right now.

I did an esn swap from a 650 to 700wx and they automatically swapped me over to Power Vision. I was a little worried at first. You should have threatened them with a cancellation of service.

Please let me know if anyone is able to get a 755p as a replacement. I'm getting tired of the antenna on my 700p.

Perhaps a call to Sprint's Retentions department might get you unlimited data for your 755p. Be sure to mention how unhappy you were with that additional charge. 866-881-9571 or 877-766-7697

Any comments on those that upgraded to the 755P, I just got off the phone with
    Total Equipment Protection:
    800-584-3666

They told me that for $50 they would give me a refurb T650. I was looking for a 755P am I dreaming? Does anyone want to share who they called and what they said?

    Thanks

All I can say is try calling the same number again and see if you get a different answer...this has been known to work at times...calling until you get a response you're happy with. I had called once before, they said refurb 700P, I said "No thanks" and tried again a couple of days later. I was all set to argue but they offered me a new blue 755P right off so I just said "thanks" and paid the $50.

Thanks for the heads up, I tried to call again and they already had the original call in the system and had processed an order awaiting my deductible payment. She indicated that it would expire on 1/25 from the system. So between the lines every time I call they will see the order for the replacement 650, they keep saying they will replace with what I have.
I indicated that I did not want the 650 as it was replaced 5 times in the begining due to headset jacket being defective (lame I know) she claimed that I should call Sprint as she did not know if they resolved the issue and made the jacket better.

Guess I have to wait till January to try again, unless someone else has some ideas?

    Thanks all

I took my defective 700p to the Sprint Store and they "tested" it. About 45 minutes later they told me it was not broken. I showed them the ##377# error screen and then they replaced it with a new 755p at no charge. The insurance paid off.
