The is very frustrating. I have been using my new gps for the last two weeks without a problem. Yesterday I am driving down the freeway and suddenly TomTom stops working, no satellites nothing. From then on I have been unable to get my gps to work! I have rebooted my sprint 700p, deleted then added back the Freedom and paired without a problem. The freedom seems to be working and like I said it pairs up with the Bluetooth without a problem. TomTom starts up and just continues to look for a valid GPS signal without success.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Try selecting a different GPS receiver in the TomTom software (ie non-bluetooth) and then switching back to the bluetooth one.

Thanks for the suggestion but no luck. When I switched it back to a bluetooth receiver it just waits for a valid gps signal. This sucks because I have had this thing working perfectly for two weeks without any problems. I did absolutely nothing to the phone or software didn't add or delete anything before it stopped working.

Delete the Freedom GPS from the list of trusted devices on the Treo and then pair it again. I occasionally have a similar problem with TTN6 and my GlobalSat BT-359.

I tried deleting the freedom from trusted devices without success. TomTom still says waiting for valid GPS signal. Thanks for the hint though.

Are you sure TT is set to Other Bluetooth GPS Receiver?

I can definitively confirm that TomTom 6 and the Freedom Mini GPS work on my Treo 755p. However, from time to time I also experience the problem that TomTom6 wouldn't find the GPS receiver. I then exit TomTom and start another GPS program (e.g. cotoGPS or Navegador), pair it with the Freedom Mini GPS, exit and start again TomTom 6. This usually does the trick. I'm not sure why, but perhaps it has something to do with opening the Bluetooth COM port?

    Cheers.

Yes I have other blue tooth devices selected. Unfortunately I don't have another navigator program to pair the Freedom GPS with. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have tried and tried through the day and still cannot get this thing to work. I just don't understand how it can work for two weeks fine and suddenly nothing. It really make me mad.

Is there any way to reset the Freedom unit?

I guess you can also try a soft reset of the Treo.

Did that. The soft reset of the Treo. Don't know about the Freedom.

The aforementioned CotoGPS is a freeware program.

Tried connecting to other gps programs without success. I think I'm screwed. BT works with my Plantronics headset so I know the BT works. I just can't seem to connect it to my freedom GPS.

I guess I could do a hard reset but I don't want to do that every time I want to use my gps. This sucks!

Make sure the headset isn't paired or active when trying to connect to the GPS.

Its not. I did a hard reset and still no luck. I am out of ideas. All these years with the Treo and never had such a problem. You think the GPS might be at fault. How would I find that out? I bought the whole package from Treocentrals store.

I found that running the battery in the freedom gps unit all the way down to absolutely empty (and leaving it there a while) results in a reset. There must be some apps that can talk more intelligently with the device and get it to switch modes, reset, etc., but I haven't been able to find them.

I have given up, uncle, and I called Treo Central Store about returning the freedom GPS. I was shocked when they said no problem we will send you out a new Freedom GPS this afternoon with return instructions enclosed. Wow! Now that's service. I just hope the problem is with the receiver.
