    Helpful Search Hints:

    Residential:
    - Try searching for last name only
    - Try searching using state only
    - Try searching using zip code for Location
    - Reverse search enabled (Enter phone number with area code)

    Business Search:
    - Try searching using descriptive keywords ("Pizza", "Lawyer")
    - Try searching using state only
    - Try searching using zip code for Location

    Enjoy!

ps. Please post comments about x411 in this thread and keep the other thread for it's intended use (Directory Assistant Status).

Oh yeah, I'm loving it!!! I'm feeling the Directory Assistant groove again, and because the interface is very clean, I'm feeling the groove even more so.

It won't let me dial the number from the results screen. It has a pop up saying that a phone app is not detected???
    I'm on a Treo 680
The business search is awesome, works great.

    Scott,
Reverse Lookup only works if you include the state in the location which of course you may not know.
    Hopefully you can fix that.

Looking good, what price are you going to sell the program for?

Outstanding. I hope that your information source remains stable and avoids the problems that DA encountered. I'd purchase as a product.

Looking great so far! I do notice some interesting inconsistencies in finding addresses in some small towns, for example, if I look up anything in "steelville, mo" I am getting no results. But if I misspell the name of the town to "steeleville, mo" I get some some results for Steelville.

Also when type in something like "Pizza" its interesting to see the ones that do and dont show up, some resturants without Pizza in the name are there (but its correct, they do serve pizza) but some in the same town/same area code with "Pizza" in the name are not listed.

I also notice that you have to type the full name exactly in residential. "Don" will not get you a "Donald." "Dan" will not get you a "Daniel" ect.

So if you know the last name is Smith and that the first name starts with the letter "D" you have to just search all of the Smiths without any first name, can't limit it to first names with the letter "D"

Will join with the others. Hope it is stable and more than willing to pay for it.

Scott, this rocks. Thank you for doing this.

Here is a few issues I found & wish list items:
    - Can you add the icon symbols for number, number lock, upper case & upper case lock?
    - In business search, one name on the result page extended beyond the screen. Since this is centered, a few leading and trailing characters were chopped off. Can this wrap, ala a ribbon electronic board?
    - Reverse search only seems to work for residential searches. Should this work for business searches?
    - On business search results, zip codes are not displayed. Can this be added?
    - Any chance of adding a connection to Google Maps?

Are you getting results in the Reverse Search without putting a state in the location field because I am not as I have pointed out in a post above?

And also, FWIW, this is one of the great things about the Palm OS and the POS community as old and creaky as it/we may be -- that people can whip up great apps that do exactly what you want and get them out to the users without a multi-million dollar company development team and ad budget.

I do not get a result unless I enter the state also in residential search. I didn't reference this since you already did.

Actually, for reverse searches, all you have to enter is a valid residental phone number. You can put any alpha characters in the Location and still get a valid result. Once you put in a number though, it doesn't work, even if it is the correct zip code.
