Wrong. The Sandisk is already out (read my post) and the Toshiba comes out in a month or two.

Great - let's just hope the Centro can utilize more than 4GB, otherwise the discussion is moot. Anyone care to order one?

Is anyone selling the 8GB yet? Link?

Had already seen that -- I'm holding out with hope that the 8GB *might* provide better success, although the odds seem long if it's the same brand & class.

Can I still dragndrop stuff to my Centro with the microsd card in the phone rather than taking the card out and putting it into a USB adapter?
  8. #28
with the same OS and just some updated internals, I'd imagine you can do everything on the Centro that you could do on the 755 or 700, and hopefully do it a bit easier. From everything that's been said about the Centro, the functionality is the same. I think program compatibility will be the main issues for a bit.

Although I can't find it stated explicity anywhere, it looks like the Sandisk 4GB microsdhc is rated at Class 2. Does anyone know differently?

The Kingston 4GB microsdhc is Class 4.

The 6GB MicroSDHC is Class 4.

    YMMV.
Are you sure about this? Treos that support SDHC generally show it as two different banks, and it'll switch over to show the second bank of space when you fill up the first.

It sounds to me that its seeing it as a 2GB bank and a 4GB bank, as opposed to the 4 and 4GB banks with an 8GB card.

Have you tried filling it with 6GB of files and seeing if you could access all of them?

I will try again. The 2GB MicroSD shows ~1.9GB (as expected), while the 6GB shows as ~1.7GB. I reformatted the card and it still showed 1.7.

    Probably a stupid question.

    Centro is a Micro SD.

    I have a 680 1g Card (non Micro)

How do I get my stuff off the Big Card onto the little one??

    Just curious...
    "Actions speak louder than words!"

REX >Palm III > Palm IIIc > Palm V> Palm m505 >Kyo 7135> Treo 650> ARTIC Treo 680> and finally to the Centro!!!

Not a problem: Put your 1GB SD card into a reader or directly into your notebook if it has a slot and copy the contents to your pc hard drive. Your microsd might/should come with an sd card adapter. Put your microsd into the adapter and then hook that up to your pc and copy your old card's contents onto the new card.

I'm not familiar with the classes specification. Am I right in assuming that the best card for the Centro would be a class 4 4GB (or higher, if compatible) micro SDHC?

Did you format it correctly on your PC? I ran 8GB SDHC cards in the 700p for a long time and the Centro uses the same driver.

The PC saw the card as a FAT32, 6GB card. When I plug it into the Centro, it sees 1.7GB.

Thats what I went with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134528

I didnt find a class 6 4GB card so I went with the class 4. Until someone is able to verify that the Centro can read the full storage on a bigger card, I will stick with a 4GB.
