At least for me they all sucked, I haven't found one the worked 100%. At first Lightwav did, then there was an upgrade, it was downhill from there, not even a downgrade worked. I tried them all, nothing thus far. I would love to have full picture caller ID, but without the resets

How exactly are you baseing that on? Ive used lightwav for over a year and it works perfect for me.. Mring doesn't have half the functions that lightwav has.

And just to let you know if you start using lightwav any contact you add a pic in lightwav remove their pic in the palm contact screen .. if you leave it your mp3 will skip for the first second of playback when they call.

Mini tones is the program that I was very unimpressed by. Storing my rintones in ram just isn't an option for me and since I have about a total of 100 ringtones I would have to no room for anything else.

Ringo worked well for me too but there just isn't a lot you can do with it which is why I went back to lightwav.

I like LightWav... although it is a lot of bells and whistles.

I just want it to work correctly. I'm in class right now so when I get outta here I'm gonna erase the trial of mRing and reinstall LightWav and include the file italiangspot posted. I am also going thru my entire phone book and removing any preset ringers or pictures for contacts. Hopefully this allows the app to run smoothly.... if not, I have had mRing installed all day and my phone is fine so if LightWav fails me, mRing it is I suppose....

aside from full display pic ID, ringtones and sms tones what other features should I play around with on LightWav?

    damn it!

I am so frustrated!! I reinstalled LightWav with the prc file in this thread, I set it up for a specific pic and ringer for my home phone number, I removed all pics in prefs and ringtones, I tried it...

1st of all...when the phone rang it STILL flashed the Treo caller ID for about 3-4 seconds then went to LightWav...for 25 dollars thats a bit below par, IMO

and 2nd..it only worked once. Called the phone again and reverted back to the Treo settings.

GRRR! I want this app! but it doesnt seem to want me to buy it!! It wont work correctly for me

    This really sucks

syphex, from many years of using Lightwav, actually since Toysoft came out with it, & beta testing some versions. Like I said before & in other posts to many things under 1 app, & I believe it works better in non CDMA phones. It worked great(for me)at one point, but after an upgrade it just never was the same. Even now, when I change/upgrade Treo's nothing but trouble, but again I'm with Sprint & I think that may have something to do with it.

I must be really lucky then because I have sprint also and I don't have any problems with it. I love everything that it does. My caller ID comes up almost instantly when someone calls and I never get any lag from it. The that it tells me what city the call is coming in from. I don't know I just guess im lucky.

That's great news! Does the Video Caller ID work? Maybe I should give it a shot again...

    can you coach me??

maybe its another app I have installed that is messing it up?

What other apps do you have installed and are you on a Sprint 755p?

I tried both, video ringtones and gif pics, they caused more lag after u pickup, I just stick with regular pics, the more bells in whistles u got going on, the more issues u have. also to use video ringtones u need another toysoft program called live!

Screw this crap! I did everything...I deleted everything off my 755, Installed the Lightwave, & just 30 phone #'s. Guess what? Re-sets! NO other apps installed. Toysoft is worthless in my eyes/Treo. If it works for you, do NOT upgrade.

i have a treo 755 with sprint (cdma) and have no resets with LW, its not the program is something u are adding into the picture
    version 2.5 build 74

if u have a hard reset treo and adding only LW and having resets and all these other people are running it smoothly... make your own judgement... where is the problem....

    do u have card reader?

run a check on your card
chkdsk<- use that command in dos on the card drive

some paths might be corrupted that point to pictures and ringtones

when u add a ringer and a picture to someones filter, TEST them... there is an option to test ringer and view picture

stick to smaller size pictures, not big ones that u have taken with your camera

u can use a freeware program called ifranview on your PC to make pics 320 x 320

also stick to mp3 ringers for example that are error free, good ones to use are the ones that come with mring free, they give u like 4 mp3 files

so setup a filter with a picture (jpg) that is 320 x 320 and use one of the mp3 files that come with mring.. just for testing purposes now

i cant see u having any resets on a hard reset treo with those settings...

the only time i can duplicate a reset is if i sometimes hit answer or ignore (default palm buttons) on the screen prior to the LW picture ID populating

    good luck!

so...any other programs that let you set SMS ringers??

any launchers give you that option??

because these ringer apps arent worth it

Again, Call Block is cheap (relatively) and stable.
