    Hi everybody:

My unlocked Treo 680 was working fine using the Alt button and the sign for shortcuts, and then entering shorcuts like "ds" for date stamp, etc.

Something must have happened but I no longer can use the shortcuts: in the case of the example above, when I type "ds" only the "s" shows, the first letter "d" is not recognized and of course no date stamp appears.

I recently use Butler and TakePhone but don't think they are the culprits.

    Help anyone?

Have you tried a soft reset?

Yes, several times and to no avail. On my former Palm Tungsten E, one could edit and add shortcuts, like your name, address, and such quotes. I miss that in the Palm software that the Treo has.

Maybe if I try a program that uses grafitti on the Treo screen could do the trick. I think there are several such softwares.

    Thanks for your kind suggestion

It might be that to regain the built-in shortcuts like "DS", you'll have to perform a hard reset.

As far as regaining the facility to edit shortcuts, take a look at ShortCut5.

Before doing a hard reset, you might try using Pimlico's dbScan utility. It has an "INIT Shortcuts" function which might fix your problem. It might also delete all your other shortcuts... not sure.
