I just ran a search, but this looks like a new one. I just tried to hook my phone up to my hotsync cable, and it wouldn't go on. It seemed like there was something stuck on the connector midway across. After a closer inspection, the plastic around the four data pins has melted and those pins no longer retract properly (the isolated data pin still works). At first it looked like there was super glue around the pins, but once a realized that a small part of the housing was also deformed, it was clear the culprit was heat. Has anyone heard of such a thing?
