    I am moving from the Tungston E to the 680. I have had three different Palms and never had the difficulty with an upgrade that I am having now. Sorry this post will be long, but wanted all of you gurus to have the needed information.

    To perform the upgrade, I did the following:

    1. Did a backup and synch of the TE.
    2. Renamed the old backup file.
    3. Deleted the Palm desktop.
    4. Installed Palm desktop that came with the 680.
    5. Hotsynched the 680.

    When I hotsynched, I moved over only the PIM data. Here is the hotsynch log:

    I had no problems when synching the TE. Iím not sure why I am now getting error messages saying that there is no room either on the desktop or the 680.

    Can anyone help??????

    Do the following:
    1. Hard reset the 680 (delete all data)
    2. Rename your desktop /Palm/<username>/Backup directory (to say, Backup.old)
    3. Change the action of your Calendar, Contacts, Memo and Tasks conduits to "Desktop overwrites handheld".

    Then Hotsync again.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

    Thanks Bill! I tried that but still come up with the same errors. I ran dbScan and it fixed the calendar problem, but still cannot get the memos and contacts to sync properly. I have completed a hard reset about a dozen times now which I'm sure clears all the data off of the 680. I then set the hot sync for "desktop overwrites handheld" for all of the PIMs. Calendar and Tasks come out okay, but memos and contacts continue to give the error message. I would think that there is some corruption in the data files, but when I run the repair from the desktop it says that there are no corrupted records. Go figure! At this point, I'm ready to just throw the d**n thing out the window!! Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    When did you run dbScan? If there was a populated calendar db on which to run it, then the 680 wasn't free of data; a hard reset would render the dbs empty on the device.
