To those who has held it, how big is it?
Is it much thicker than Pearl?
What phone currently on the market is comparable in size?

Would be interesting to compare the size with a Blackjack (since Blackjack has a full QWERY keyboard).

I've been told that it's frighteningly large.

    And the thickness drops jaws.

    here ya go!

"it'll fend off the argument about Treos being chunky, that's for sure."

"The Centro has possibly the tiniest QWERTY keyboard I've ever seen. It's infinitesimal: it's actually impossible to type on this thing with two thumbs. The keys on the model I tried were little clear rubbery bumps, below a cursor pad and the usual Palm OS quick application buttons. Seeing me get frustrated trying to puzzle out letters on this tiny thing, a Sprint rep stepped in to say that it was for the "youth market" - in other words, kids with nimble fingers and sharp eyes to read the small screen."

"The Palm Centro, aka the "Gandolf" or "Treo 800" is a tiny Treo running Palm OS, the first truly new Treo form factor in years. (Yes, Engadget's photos are roughly correct.)"

If you wish to read the full article (going over the centro, sprint's htc touch, home cell solutions, and a few other phones)

Here I **** and moan about the 755 being too small, and they go and make something even smaller.

    Over at morningpaper there's some kind of internal Sprint roadmap listing the dimensons as 105.3 x 53.6 x 18.6mm (L x W x H).

    Palm Gandolf
    105.3 x 53.6 x 18.6mm

    Treo 680 specs for comparison.
    111.8 x 58.4 x 20.3 mm. Weight, 157 g

    T-Mobile Dash
    62.5 x 111.5 x 12.8 millimetres

Not exactly super-thin, but thin for a Treo...

used those figures over at sizeeasy:

hard to comment, smaller I guess but not a real breakthrough, particularly in thickness

    LOL... that's a good one...

well i think it's relatively made for youngones so they might be planning for another version for another janra or users like nokia did.

they made units for gamers, music lovers, etc... it's nice to see palm is catching up w/ the trend...
