The Treo 755p is one of the most useful Palm OS device ever created. It is a great tool straight out the box; however, with a few added applications it is made into a much more useful device. There are tons of great applications that you can buy; however, today I will focus on choice free applications that every Treo 755p owner should consider loading unto their device.

    Here is my list:
    • CutPaste5
    • FieldPlus
    • LEDOff
    • ShortCut5
    • Yaps
    • SyncAll
    • eReader
    • YAHM
    • Paranoid Security Hack for Palm OS 5 (PSHack)
    • KeyCaps600
    • Video Jigsaw
    • Marbles2 Squared
    • Bubblet
    • SFCave
    • Summing
    • Yahdice
    • CardKeeper
    • FileProg
    • LinkStart
    • NVBackup
    • Noah Pro 3.0
    • Thesaurus
    • The Core Pocket Media Player (TCPMP)
    • Directory Assistant
    • FlightStatus
    • SplashBlog
    • SharkLinks

A very useful list of great freebies.

One freebie I'd love to get ported to the 755 is a little applet I found extremely useful on my Treo 600, but which will not install on the 755.

Treo Nav Set which made Palm applications that did not recognize the Treo's 5-way control, do so. I never reallized how badly I would miss this utility when I upgraded from my 600 a few weeks ago, but I now know how useful it truely was.

Maybe someone knows of an alternative, or some enterprising Palm programmer might want to take a crack at creating one (or fixing the original). It would be a wonderful addition to this list.

I surf mostly on the Treo, so creating that on the treo would be too much work. That is why I linked to the mobile version so that even on the Treo someone could click the link and get all the links.

Here is the mobile link again.

I wonder how many of these have been tried on the T755p? LEDoff makes no sense as the light is always off anyway (not like my old 600). TMCP is already in the 755p too. otherwise seems like a nice list.

All of these work fine on the 755p and are used on mine. LEDoff is useful because the light still blinks. None of these apps are on the Treo 755p by default, including TCPMP.

The only time my LED blinks is if there is a pending alert (like from Versamail, or a voicemail).

Same here. As a result of the list, I've now added a couple of the mentioned apps. Good list.

Is there any risk when adding TCPMP? I think I would like to add this.

'Snap' is a useful screenshot program

I also this free Applications program that works like Obfuscate but works on the 755p without crashes and actually hides itself in the preferences box.

Sorry, what is this and what does it do? It has 3 memo notes that, I assume, are not for the treo but seem to have no purpose.

It hides the useless programs in the Treo Launcher, to allow you to keep the launcher screen nice and clean with only the programs you use shown.

    It's a great freebie.

I forgot about "Snap" because I have been using HRCapt (it requires the free DA Launcher) but allows me to capture using the Command Bar instead of a hard key. Aside from that it works the same as Snap.

I hadn't thought of Snap because I use another program called "Snap". This Snap allows a central place to capture data and then provides a easy way to get the captured data into the intended app. As a matter of fact it is being offered for FREE for a limited time (so act fast) - http://www.splashdata.com/snap/ - plus the download includes a free copy of Splash Notes.

Another free app I forgot to mention is Mundu Radio Beta. It allows you to stream FREE radio type music to your Treo 755p. If you have the Pocket Tunes Deluxe app, then it may not be for you. But if you have the standard PT that comes with the 755p, then Mundu Radio works great an d is free. I have the PT Deluxe and still like Mundu Radio too.

I might try this, THANKS! Snap is a good program considering it is free but I don't like not knowing if it actually takes a screen shot or not. It seems to delay when taking the screen shot as well too.
