    Roughly 18 pounds. I suggest you start working out beforehand.

    Palm M100 -> Handspring Treo 90 -> Sony Clie NR70v -> Dell Axim X3 adv. -> Dell Axim x50v -> Dell Axim x51v -> nothing.

    Razr Z3 -> Nokia N73 -> Samsung i320n -> Nokia N73 -> HTC TyTN -> Palm Treo 680

    Wow, I guess it does matter.

    That's nothing. Wait until you get one of those new 8GB SDHC cards loaded with movies, music, and photos etc. Mine gained about 3 1/2 pounds. This is becoming a real problem.

    $50 for this battery seems to be a bit of a price gouge. 2400 mAh batteries for the 700p only cost $40. I may wait for the price to drop or at least a rave review from an early adopter.

    And for International customers, that would mean an additional whopping $28 for shipping.
    Total $78
    Ouch!!

    I think I'll pass...

    Bits ain't free! Just don't be greedy, I've heard there might be an upcoming shortage and we'll have to conserve.

    Is that so - $40 for the 2400? Yes, a rave review so that the price is worth the purchase or wait several months for the price to drop - at least here on TC.

    I believe it should be shipping sometime this week.

    Any chance that this also means availability soon of OEM-sized battery covers and/or the release button on the battery cover for the 680?

    I just got mine! They are charging right now I will be cycling them down the next couple days but I will keep everyone informed.

    Got mine too. It already seems to last longer, but that's just a wild guess. It is several pounds heavier, it is true, but the small size makes up for the substantial increase in weight.

    I suddenly realized that simply isn't true. This battery should provide 33% more power, not 25%. I noticed the difference in the first two to three hours.

    So far I am seeing the same kind of battery drain I had back on my 650. Which would make sense as the 1600 mah is the same.

    And 33% would be the right amount of increase, nice to have the smaller form factor back.

    Yeah, I mentioned that when the extended battery threads started.

    1200/1600 = 3/4 ...that's where seidio got 25%

    really what you have is 400 more than 1200 or an increase of 400/1200 = 1/3

    an even easier way to look at it is, if you got 12 hours out of the old battery, you should get 16 out of the new one. That is, 4 more hours, 33% more.

    Smaller form factor, increase battery, and heavier weight...am I missing anything? Guess it's worth it.

    I'm ordering.

    The weight was kind of a joke. Unless you load it up with apps and data. Obviously, the more you put in your Treo, the more it will weigh.
