instead of Palm, I am now finally syncing with outlook.

one thing I don't like is:

under a contact, if you enter it in the handheld, and want notes under the "custom" area, the only area for notes, it won't show up when you open the contact in outlook.

you can make notes in outlook and they will show on the phone when you press the contact name, but not vice versa... kind of weird.

also, outlook has crashed 3 times already in 2 days, lol. hated.

hopefully they will have active sync enabled soon on my work server or all this is wasted effort because it sync'd a lot better with Palm, IMO.

What I hate most is the 6 month limitation on calendar items. I need to be able to go back at least a year.

If your corporate email is Exchange based, and you want to keep syncing calendar and contacts with Palm Desktop, check out Dataviz Roadsync.

Are all of your events still on your Treo? Outlook will keep the calendar items on your PC, but EAS limits the appointments held on your treo to six months.

    From the user's guide:

"For Calendar events, select the Events pick list and select an interval from 2 weeks to 6 months."

Maybe it's different if you are not using Exchange Active Sync. However, you mentioned your eventual hope to use it with your work email. This is something to consider.

    hmm...
I'm not sure, but that sucks... I guess as long as they're on outlook (computer) it'll be ok.. I wonder why that is?

Is it a problem for any of you??

no, I just checked and I have events on my treo calendar from 4 years ago still...

but... I am not on active sync yet... I guess you take the good with the bad???

or I just don't hook up to active sync...
