    Hey guys...

I just noticed a weird thing on my phone tonight. When I use *22899 my phone will update it's PRL but will end with a phone reset. If I do *228 option 1, my phone will end only with turning the radio on and off. I always thought these two OTA programming numbers virtually did the same thing. Why do you think it's doing this? Anyone else experiencing this?

    My phone: 700p vzw MR

Strange, *22899 caused a reset for me too, and I don't have the MR installed. It's never done that before.

I also thought they were the same thing. Also, last night, it also caused my phone to reset and I also have NOT applied the patch.

However, I just tried it now and it did not reboot. However, it seems hung, so I may have to reboot.

I was told yesterday from a vzw rep that this was the preferred method of updating a 'data device.' (*22899) Anyone else have any insight into the differences?

Sorry for the confusion. (I've updated my previous post to clarify.)

I was told that *22899 was for data-only products and *228 Opt 1 and 2 were for voice and data products, but the guy assisting me got his info from an email he received on the subject, and didn't appear to have any actual technical knowledge of the difference between the two.

My network connection problems seem to have resolved after I updated via *22899.
