So the last few days my Treo 700p (Sprint) has been randomly resetting itself.

I haven't done anything, no new apps, or anything.

Today it finally reset and...the phone application is now inaccessible, either by pressing the button or scrolling through the applications.

I can open e-mail, texts, even play Bejeweled or Monopoly. Just no phone.

I can receive calls, but not make them. I tried to call via the contacts - nothing.

I'm at work now so I haven't had a chance to do a reset and restore.

I also haven't done the update yet.

    Any thoughts?

looks like you need to do a restore from a backup (if you have one) if not I would backup what you can and then do a hard reset.

Doesn't sound good to me; sounds like a hardware, not a software problem....so a soft reset didn't do anything? After the screens, did the Sprint logo come up to turn the phone on? If not, yes, a hard reset is in order.

    Well,

Earlier in the day it would still receive phone calls. I just tried a warm reset and now it does not receive calls. So basically it is useless as a phone.

It was letting me on the internet before, now if I try that it says:

Error: The phone is off. Turn on the phone on and try again. (0x7001)

    So that's that.

I can still play Bejeweled, and open a variety of other apps. The phone seems to be cooked. I just tried Bluetooth and it says:

Missing Bluetooth Components. Please re-install software.

When I try to open Google Maps it says:

    Google Maps needs NetLib.

    Audio Gateway says:

This application requires Bluetooth software and hardware installed.

pTunes opens, but with no playlist. When I attempt to load songs into it I get a crash.

Camera and camcorder seem to work.

But just now I tried to view a slide show and it reset again.

Is it even worth trying to hotsync, or should I just do a hard reset and back up from my last hotsync?

I should add Sprint is going to send me a 755...

Is that good? Or is it just different problems?

If you got it for free then ya its a very good thing.. all your phone needs is a hard reset to put it back to factory settings. But the 755 is a step up

Actually I was refunded the difference in the two's list price.

They basically paid me to upgrade.
