My 680 took a dip in the Mediterranean. After a number of steps to get it safely dried, I am somewhat amazed that I still have a semi-working 680. The semi part is due to (only) two problems: the letter "p" does not work, and the red power button works at best intermittently, meaning I cannot hang up on phone calls--nor can I even turn the radio off. I am surprised but the radio turns on after reset even though I think I have checked any app I have that would turn the radio automatically after reset. So, aside from having no "p," I would have a workable phone if I just could find an app that would allow me to turn off the radio. I could use that also to hang up the phone calls, although I'm satisfied resetting to do that. Any suggestions?

Hi-Launcher has "Radio" as one of its "Toggle" types.

Thanks. It looks like a lot more than what I really need but if there is nothing else around that does little, if anything, more than simply toggle the radio, I will give it a try.

You could just toss it back in the Mediterranean at the end of each call. You could even try the local swimming pool - where it will probably regain its "p".

    Oh no, he didn't..........

BTW, mdavis, you sure you let it dry out enough? I've heard of letting one dry out for 3-4 days, seems it would be less than 2...

Also, the Mediterranean is salty, I assume you rinsed out the 680 very well before attempting to dry it out? Otherwise, corrosion might get the rest.

Phone Technician from Hobbyist Software has a function called Call Master. With this enabled, your backspace key (the Left Arrow button) hangs up a call. I never use my Power button to end a call, because that also blanks the screen, and I usually want to do something else on my 680 at the end of the call.

    Other functions:

    Space - toggle speakerphone
H - puts call on Hold
A - Activates calls from Hold
    M - toggles Mute

    Hope that helps.

(Also, have you called Palm to get a new device? I'm sure the warranty doesn't normally cover inadvertent scuba diving, but how would they know? You could just say your headphone jack stopped working, or the P key doesn't work anymore or whatever.)

Oh, and Phone Tech also has a Phone Connection scheduling feature, to turn your radio on/off at specific times. 7 settings for 7 different days.
