I got a 2g miniSD card with SD adapter. I formatted it in the treo 755p and can use it there, but not in my PC. Is this to be expected?

With my 650, the SD card could by seen by both treo and computer.

If the card is SDHC you will need to be sure you have a SDHC reader and not just SD. The adapter converts from mini to standard, but doesn't remove the requirement for HC.

    Thanks Carrel,
This is good information to have. I just picked up a 4 gig minisd from Toshiba and had the same thing happen. My Treo 755p read the card fine but the computer wouldn't see it.
I knew that the device had to support SDHC, but I didn't think that the card reader on the computer needed to specifically support SDHC as well. After trying two minisd to sd adapters and three different card readers I found this post.

FYI, programs like Card Reader at http://www.mobile-stream.com/cardreader.html work fine with the Treo 755p and allows you to use your Treo as a card reader to read the SDHC card. The only problem is that it runs at USB 1.0 so it's not as fast as a regular card reader.

If you are running Win XP, there is a "hotfix" upgrade which will let your computer read the SDHC card... as previously posted here...

Thanks for posting this! I just bought a 4gb Toshiba card and my brand new ASUS laptop wouldn't read it. Called tech support and they said it was limited to 2gb. I took them at their word. Then I saw this post and tried the hotfix, and all is good!

    Thanks again.

I am coming to the conclusion that card readers are kind of a crap shoot. I've loaded the m$ hotfix on my laptop w/ buillt in SD and PC with external card reader. The laptop SD reader will see the card, but I suspect that it is also corrupting it, requireing me to reformat the card.

I've been sticking to the Card Reader program, and don't seem to have any problems. Yeah it's a little slower, but it's nice to not have to always be popping the mini card in and out.
