From what I have read on the 755p forum and elsewhere, the 700p post-MR seems to be functionally equivalent to the 755p - post MR we even share most of the same bugs with the 755p!!
    Have a great one...Doc D.

Not for me, call drops on every 8 of 10 calls for me when my Katana does not drop a single call.

Interesting....The feedback here suggests that the 755 is no better than the 700p+MR. However, over in the 755p forum where I originally posted, the feedback is the opposite.

I think the file versions, EV icon etc look exactly the same as 700p. if someone can do a "r2sd dump" of the 755p I can try to compare them and maybe flash 755p into 700p

As a former owner of 3 700p's and 1 with the MR before having a return kit and replacment with a 755p. If you think the 700p with the MR is the same as the 755p go to your local sprint store hold your phone side by side with the 755p hit the home key, then hit the phone key, then hit the home key again. Notice the 755p wins every time.

In terms of speed 650 still has a slight edge on the 755p the 755p has the edge on the 700p.

I didnt see any notice able speed increase when I installed the MR on my 700p since I had done the suggestion on how to speed your treo up by hiding and not using a few programs such as versa mail, and I have stated bforee when I had my 700p and played with others 700p's I had yet to find one that was faster than mine at changing applications.

That may be true on a stock no programs treo, but with the same programs installed my 700p is MUCH faster than my 650, palm internals verifies it:
    treo 650 58secs
    treo 700p 8 secs

same programs installed, only diff is my 650 is gsm and my 700p is sprint

    Jay-L...

You are comparing a 650... the OP wanted to compare an MR'd 700P with a 755P, not the 650.
Although Andrew mentioned the 650 in passing, he was also mainly comparing 700P's and the 755 (even with programs installed).

I, too am interested in this MR'ed 700P vs 755P comparison. Does it seem like the 755P is winning?

While "seat of the pants" subjectivity seems to favor the 755, I'd opine that the two devices are pretty similar in both speed and bugginess.

What is objective though is the new form factor of the 755 and the use of the new memory card.

If you have lots of memory cards or form fitted accessories for the 650/700p then you might be better off with the 700p - the 700p fits into my 650 car cradle, the 755 does not....
    Cheers

    Here's my 0.02:
I have a more than a year old 700P and I installed the MR and treated like a new phone - used it without apps for a day or two. My wife bought a 755 a week before - since she's new to POS, I got to show her what smartphones can do and in doing so got a good feel for its performance. So with both phones side by side, i did several non-scientific performance tests but cannot see a difference (maybe someone needs to run PalmInternals or other benchmarks on freshly hard-reset units for comparison).

But then I noticed that the 755 won't stay on EVDO - wife gets it replaced. Second 755 EVDO now works as normal but sometimes has non-responsive buttons. This will be exchanged too. Palm's quality has definitely gone down with every iteration of the Treo.

I'm very happy with my post-MR 700P. Hopefully after getting a good one, my wife will be happy with her 755.
