Does anyone know if those dummy phones have functional covers like a real Treo 680? I was thinking I could get one in he color I want then switch covers with my phone. What do you think? Is it possible.

I'm sure its possible. The buttons obviously aren't functional, but the covers should work. The one problem I could see is the case not fitting if quality control for the dummy ones wasn't as stringent for the production models.

They work, just the covers though .... the backs have no SD cards covers, no sim tray and no batt door lock. I have 2 of them just arrived from HK and installed one of them.

I was wondering... If I buy the Treo I need to go with the 680 (AT&T). However, I REALLY like the sprayed-on rubberized coating on the 755p (Sprint). Do you think it's possible to get the 755p dummies and swap out the front and back of an AT&T 680 with the 755p dummy??

Yeah I wanted to do that too ... but, I doubt you can do it.

Take a peek here and noticed how the everything is layed out differently in each unit.

Thanks for the pics, E2EK1EL. Looks as though I'll need to find another way!

Actually the 680 Dummy phones parts will work. I just got a Crimson 680 dummy phone off of ebay and swapped out my graphite case. Looks great and I could have used all the pieces with no problems. I am getting a work log together with pics but go for it if you want one of the other colors of the 680. BTW anyone want a graphite 680 case for cheap.

Can you recommend any buyer on EBay (or other) where to get a Crimson unit?
Also, are there any instructions on how to fit it? Is the keypad co-oridnated with the colour of the fake unit?
    Thanks

Just search ebay for treo 680 dummy. I asked the person I got it from and they preferred to not be mentioned. They do not want alot of folks screwing thier treo's up and then blaming them. I am pretty sure the dummy phones are all the same though. Again every part (except the stylus) was usable.
