I liked the idea of sending an SMS automatically when a calendar event was triggered posted in the 'LudusCalendarSMS' thread, but I also would like to see a more full featured program (and would be willing to pay for it). It would be nice to be able to configure SharkMSG to sync up with events in my calendar, so that while that event was occurring, SharkMSG would automatically send out an SMS that said "Sorry I'm busy doing [insert calendar event name] until [insert end of appoitment]." SharkMSG would just use this template and plug in the information from the calendar.

I work in restaurants and a coffee shop and literally cannot answer my phone. Instead of having to open SharkMSG, enter the event I was doing (and the time I will be available) and click on auto, I would just click a button in SharkMSG to attach itself to certain events. So I wouldn't attach it to garden work, but I would attach it to a high profile meeting. Just a thought, maybe this is possible, I'm not a programmer. Thanks.

Thanks! I will download that program and see if it works for me. Since I haven't used it, I can only speculate, but from the description I can already see problems. First of all, it offers integration with tasks and not the calendar, which I use a lot more. I want to be able open the "autoSMS" program and then just attach the SMS reply feature to the events where I won't be able to answer the phone. Secondly, I don't want to spend a lot of time typing in text messages. The "autoSMS" program should send out an automatically generated SMS that says the name of the event and when I'm done. I'm real lazy.

Lightwave can do something like that, but indirectly.
You can attach a profile to any Calendar appointment. One profile can be Silent.

So when someone calls you during say, "meeting with boss" your phone is muted. So your caller will hang up. Lightwave will automatically send a message which you have coined.

The nice thing about Lightwave is it can send the sms to caller's mobile phone EVEN if he/she called from a land phone (provide you have both the mobile & land line phone in your contacts)
