Does anyone know how to tell if the camera update is actually installed?

I know you can check the 680's serial number to see if the device needs it, but that's not quite the question. What I'm asking is - if the device does need the update, can you tell whether you've actually installed it without just trying to install it again?

I'm curious because as a result of various unrelated crashes I've had to hard-reset a few times recently, and I've been restoring using NVBackup. I'd like to check if restoring like that actually puts the camera update back as well, or if I need to re-run it.

    Any ideas?

    TIA, Rick

Restoring from NVBackup will definitely put it back.
You can always check using a tool like FileZ and see if the file which should be installed is present both in ROM and Main Memory.

Don't mess with the Camera or Security updates, update your firmware. It contains both and more.

Only for AT&T. Rogers and unlocked do not have an official ROM upgrade.
But I think which ROM update you are referring to (I already applied it )

Hmmm, that's part of the problem - I don't know what the actual installed file is. The .prc that you copy to the device then has to be run on the device to install the fix. What it ends up as is hard to tell! I haven't quite figured out how it works.

The file installed into RAM by the update is "CameraLib-camL".

Ah - got it! I assume the file in RAM dated dec-06 overrides the one in ROM from sep-06.

    Many thanks

I installed the at&t firmware upgrade and the phone app is showing the new version, but my camera app is still showing the old version... Anyone else notice this?
