Hey guys and gals, I apologize in advance if this has been asked a few times, I used the search button and didn't find the answer to my questions, I installed minitones in my 755p and it doesn't read any of the mp3 files, I tried unistalling the software several times, I also tried reloading the mp3 files, pocket tunes sees the files just fine, but minitones doesn't see anything. it scans the memory card and it finds zero, any help would be appreciate it.
    TIA.

In what directory (or directories) are your MP3s?

Try creating a folder off the root called Audio (/Audio), and putting one in there.
    V > Vx > m505 > m515 > T/T > T3 > TC > 650 > 680

I'm having a similar problem on my 680, it doesn't appear to be about where the files are located but the files themselves. Some MP3s will work and some won't. Do they have to be a certain bitrate or something? Where can I find Musictones?

ok, found musictones and it has exactly the same issue. It must be my MP3s.

I found that I had to change my mp3's to 128 bits before I will be recognized by musictones or mintones. Musictones crashed my 755p...twice.

    Back to minitones.

Certain types of MP3's will not play with Minitones.

I think it has something to do with the way the MP3's are created and the type of layering that occurs. So, while the MP3 may play in an auido player, like PTunes, it may not be able to be utilized by MiniTones.

I'm wondering, does upgrading PTunes to Deluxe give additional codecs which would solve this problem?

I've briefly tried it over the last couple of weeks, but assigned mp3's have, on two occasions, just stopped working. So silence when a call comes in.

I know it's free, and only a beta, but missing calls isn't good.

You could try Musictones mentioned above. It was only recently released and looks very similar to Minitones.

for whats its worth... in all my mp3 testing, mini and music tones both crap out on VBR mp3s.... That is, mp3s that do not maintain a constant bitrate (128, 210, 192, 160, etc). If you guys are stealing your mp3s of the internets, it is pretty standard now that they are all VBR. As someone mentioned above, there are tons of tools that can convert VBR to CBR... and almost every program that clips/trims does it without asking :>
Just waiting for the day my Pre has contacts grouping, and a "speed dial" for text messaging
