Just upgraded from 650 to 755p, so am doing some quick research on SDHC cards. Apparently there are Class 2 and Class 4 SDHC cards available (latter twice as fast). Anybody know, for certain, if the 755p supports the faster Class 4 SDHC cards (2 or 4 GB).

Yeah, but is it the FASTER Class 4 card? The "standard" cards are Class 2. See link here...

Yes. You might want to search next time. I'm using a 4GB Class 4 card and it works perfectly and is MUCH faster than the Class 2 cards.

My 755 is waiting at the Post Office for me! I'd like to order a 4GB card for it and noticed that Newegg has some listed as Class 6. What is that? Faster than 4 or just a marketing gimmick?
    Thanks!

No, Newegg doesn't list any miniSD cards as Class 6.

    From http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-sdhc-cards.htm

SDHC (Secure Digital High-Capacity) cards are flash memory cards with a minimum capacity of 4GB (gigabytes). SDHC cards provide removable memory for compatible digital devices including cameras, camcorders, PDAs, MP3 players and more. Secure Digital refers to a specific format within the flash card market. SDHC cards are designed for devices that are compatible with the SDHC 2.00 specification. Products designed exclusively to support previous SD specifications 1.0 and 1.1 will not be able to utilize SDHC cards.

The growing demand for high-capacity flash memory springs partially from the increasing use of high-definition video and high-resolution digital photography. SDHC cards meet the challenge of these demanding products not only by providing ample storage but also by introducing a new feature: classifications of data transfer speed (DTS). Consumers can get the best performance value out of their digital products by using flash memory cards that support the device's highest standards for data transfer speed. The SDHC specification 2.00 calls for cards to be classified according to the minimal sustained DTS as follows:

Class 2: minimum sustained DTS of 2MB/sec
Class 4: minimum sustained DTS of 4MB/sec
Class 6: minimum sustained DTS of 6MB/sec

SDHC cards are classified to guarantee a specific sustained DTS. This potentially saves consumers money, as flash cards are priced not only according to capacity, but also to speed. For example, if a product's maximum DTS is 2MB/sec, dishing out extra cash for Class 4 or Class 6 SDHC cards would be a waste of money. Conversely, devices that can utilize the 4MB/sec or 6MB/sec DTR will perform significantly better with Class 4 or Class 6 SDHC cards, respectively.

So this begs the question - does anyone know what transfer rate the 755 can support? Buying a faster rated card is just wasting money if the 755 doesn't pump data as fast as the card can go.

Is class 6 available for mini-sd or available currently only for SD card ?

It'll be interesting to know what is the limitation for treo 755 before I can try to upgrade to class 4 or 6 .Thanks

Class 4 makes a large difference over Class 2 on the 755 and 700.

cash70, how about a link to that 4GB Class 4 card that you claimed to have purchased from Amazon for less than $30 in another thread? I'm calling major BS on that one.

Be wary of purchasing anything from Buy.com. They literally pulled a bait and switch on me with an SD card. I ordered a mini, they switched it to a micro, and when I called to immediately complain they had already shipped it. Yea right. There are a lot of complaints against them including mine if you check them out.

Cash70... unfortunately, your Amazon link is for the slower (cheaper) Class 2 card. The Class 4 cards are harder to come by, and apparently in short supply. After placing my order with Transcend Direct, they emailed me saying the cards are back-ordered. If anybody knows a reliable source that actually has them in stock, please reply!

Yep...didn't realize he mentioned class 4 here. I made mention of the Transcend 4gb card on another thread. I never mentioned that I had purchased a class 4.

Yup, cash70 isn't even on the same page. lol He claimed to have purchased a 4GB Class 4 minisdhc card from Amazon for less than my $30 Toshiba card. I knew it was BS.
