    Hello,
I have a Palm Treo 650 which I purchased to use internationally. I
requested the Treo to be unlocked and this was done via a Cingular
customer care call. I am in Hong Kong now & I have tried multiple
cellphone providers to buy a prepaid SIM card for my phone and the same
message comes up with the phone. The SIM card cannot be used with my
    phone.
I am doing business now in Asia and the phone is necessary. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Phil

    I don't think it's unlocked then.

I have a 650 that I unlocked from some website and I can use overseas SIM cards just fine. I was in Taiwan.

    Hi,

Thanks for the hint. Do you know what website that was?

    I used GSMLiberty.net

It is not THAT simple of a process though. You would have to install their software, and get the sync cable, and go through their process.

It is guaranteed to work though, because mine worked. Check out their website before you decide to jump in...

    Hi,

Well, I got my phone unlocked, and used another SIM card making & receiving calls today. I got the unlock code from Cingular and it worked.

    Thanks,
    Phil
