I know this thread is going to set some people off...but it truly is not intended to. It seems to me that my Treo 680's battery life is better after installing the security update. It's now 28 hours since I took the Treo out of the cradle, and the battery is still at 81%. Granted, I haven't used it much. But I don't believe the battery would still be this high after a full day before I installed the update.

Anyone else notice a change in battery drain?

I get that kind of battery life.

I will let my Treo 680 stay off its charger for an entire day... 7am-8pm and will most of the time come back with 90% or so...

i know its not 81% but lets double that and id have 80% left after 26 hours. close.

nothing odd.... a few txts a day, 5 min of web browsing, calendar and the program yesterday for about 20 min. and maybe five 3 min. phone calls is about it. thats the usual day, i get that kind of battery life. the hard days, it drains like a spoon with a hole down the middle. lol

That's just about right for no data apps running, such as email or IM.

My wife's 680 runs about .5% an hour, at most.. She goes several days without charging.

It's now 37 hours and my battery is at 77%. Which seems a little better than before applying the security update. Phone is active but I am not running much on it right now; there are no apps running in background and IR is turned off. I have only a couple of non-standard programs on the 680.

since I installed the patch I haven't had to recharge once! in fact, whereas it said 71% yesterday, it now says 97% and seems to be charging itself just by my entering my access code. wow.

A pleasant surprise indeed....after installing the security patch, my battery use went from about 5.5%/hr to about 4%/hr.

(High overall battery usage due to ChatterEmail push accounts)
