Dunno whether this was mentioned before, but here is a thread in SPUG temporary forum on OPIE Linux for 650 done up by a group of Palm Linux enthusiasts.

    http://www.spug.sg/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2577

    The actual website is http://www.palmlinux.cz/index.php

Not sure whether is this the same as this thread.

Note that you can't run using FAT32. Mine can't as I've updated my ROM with FAT32.

I tried this and got the expected kernel panic, presumably because of FAT32.

I wonder, though, if the problem is the FAT32 PalmOS driver, or the FAT32 formatting of the SD card itself? In other words, if I formatted an SD card with FAT16 (I don't have one handy right now, or I would try it myself), could I boot linux from that? Even though I still have the FAT32 driver on my Treo?

I will give it a try when I get home this afternoon.

I've been sitting here playing with this for the past hour and I still cannot believe my eyes. This is pure insanity. You have simply got to respect both the scalability of Linux, and the will of man.

This seriously needs to be ported to the newer models ASAP. I can't wait to have this running on my 680. I'll attempt a hack tonight...

Damn. This might be worth dumping FAT32 for. I only have a 2GB card, anyway.

Opps. The original SPUG forums has been restored and the temporary forum has been removed.

The actual website, but don't understand the language: http://www.palmlinux.cz/modules.php?...article&sid=16

    Go to: http://www.palmlinux.cz/p3t3/

Download the AngstromTreo650-v01.zip, unzip and put it in ROOT directory of a fat16 formatted SD card. Download cocoboot.prc, put into treo and run. Takes a while to boot but worth the wait I supposed.

Wake me up when either CDMA or GSM radios start working with this....

Also, is this distro different from the one listed at grack.com or what?
