First off, thanks to all here for helping this former lurker decide to go for the Treo 680. My venerable 600 (two plus years) gave up the ghost. Or rather, the vibrator died, and that just wouldn't do! So, I've moved on to the new 680, which was delivered yesterday. Like anything, from my reading here I can see it obviously has potential problems, but so far so good.

So I'll start with one little bother. On the old Treo 600, looking under Menu>Record>Details for any entry in the "call log" would give me the call information, including "Duration". Very handy indeed for someone like me that bills for his time. Of course, my new 680 seems to have regressed in that respect, and does not do this. I know I could buy a utility specifically designed to capture this data, but I wonder if anyone could tell me if any of the more generally useful ones like TakePhone include this information.

    Hi,

TAKEphONE does show call duration in the call-log details screen.

There is a full-featured 30 days trial available.

    Thanks.

There is a free call duration patch for the phone app available at:

    http://www.pug-ned.de/PalmTreo680CallDuration.php

This page is in German (its a Palm user group). Basically you need the file "PhoneCallDuration.prc". Copy it to the device RAM (from the SD card or via Bluetooth/IR, a hotsync will not work) and make a soft reset. Use at your own risk of course!

This patch works very well on my 680.

Works on the 755 also. However it seems to remove the ability to enter ## commands from the dialpad screen.
