    Question about the password to unlock Treos: is there a way to just type the password and *BOOM*, the device is unlocked? My boss thinks that pressing the "OK" button after entering the password is too much work(!)

    TIA,
    Deborah

    Does he care that that feature would be a huge security flaw? That means that i can just hit random stuff and the device would let me know when I got it right(ish)...

    aka

    pswd = "hi"

    accepted pswds:
    "hi"
    "hi "
    "hi bob"
    etc..
    as soon as "hi" is done.. the device would go "okay.. ur in"

    Just curious
    "So long and thanks for all the Treos!"

    Actually yes - check out TealLock 6 - there is an option for something similar to what da boss is wanting - http://tealpoint.com/softlock.htm.

    BabelFish,

    Our corporate Treos are configured to do a hard reset after the wrong password is entered 3 times. So even though bypassing "OK" does make security weaker, it's still unlikely that a hacker could break the password in only 3 attempts.

    Thanks to you and the other poster for your input - it's very appreciated!
