What does work with Exchange? Not criticizing you, but MS!

    DXTGAttachmentPlugin
    TakePhone
    VolumeCare

As I suggested earlier, don't add them unless you have issues with them. If you don't use alarms in Agendus, you don't need it in the list (and it is a memory hog). Not even sure if you need it with alarms.

VolumeCare seems to work as advertised for me without being in the list. 4cast definately works without being in the list.

The others I question I don't have/use but you should test them not being in the list. This might explain your lack-luster performance enhancement experience with Uncache.
4cast is scheduled to update, would that happen without it being notified? Not sure, perhaps I can look in the alarm list without it and see what happens.

DTG you won't get its mime handler without it loaded, but not sure that's the right program.

TakePhone has a handler it puts in place too, so I think it would need to be loaded. Agendus handles alarms, so I suspect it needs loading, but I can test that perhaps by setting an alarm and then resetting without it and seeing if the default calendar gets it or Agendus does. And I'm surprized about VolumeCare. How would it work without being notified to start?

You're right about VolumeCare . . . added it. I don't do scheduled updates with 4cast, so you may have to add it to get them.

My 700P is loading everything much faster. Of particular note is getting in and out of Blazer, and launching McPhling. McPhling has always been quick, but is now instaneous.

I would expect that the improved latency would be a short term effect, after launching a few programs the dbcache gets fragmented anyway.
    khaytsus,
Is still the case? Does this app do anything for the 680, or does it just bring the 700p up to 680 standards?

    HOLY COW!
I have been playing with this for about 30 minutes and I am very happy with it.
I have played hit and miss with what needs to be on the list using the lists that have been posted as a starting point.
It really appears that I have the smartphone I really wanted when I bought this thing.
    Startup time is quick.
Making calls and ending calls is faster.
    Switching apps is faster.

Anyone without the patience to wait for the MR wouldn't be dissapointed with this.
I, of course, am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for it, but I am very happy with this little app.

I guess I'm not the only one who noticed that making and ending calls is faster also. This application really does work. The only thing now is to fix the delays in the messaging department.

Durn, it made my Treo lightning fast. and I can't use it with exchange active sync in versamail. someone help!

try putting some or all of the Versamail files in uncache. Same thing for the Exchange files.

I dont' know if you can choose those files, but give it a try. Also try adding the AirSam files, etc. Play around with it.,,

No hope for me. If I don't add the Airsam files, email will not come up. If I do add them, then I get server errors, with my EAS email account. I've tried every combination of adding and removing files. I'm SOL.

Not sure about the 700p, but I was hoping the 680 might get a little quicker like the 650 was, but I haven't noticed any runtime difference, just 46s faster booting. I haven't paid attention to dbcache, it's never been a problem on the 680 for me.

Tried it, but ended up deleting it. Seemed to create more problems than it solved.

Seemed to cause more extended freezes than it fixed.

OK, that's what I thought: this is unnecessary for the 680.

Yeah, even at just $6 I doubt I'll be buying this.. 46s is nice, and I'm sure next time I'm in the middle of somewhere and need to reboot or spontaneously reboot, I'll wish it took 46s less.... But otherwise, I don't see much difference.

I think its in your mind.. I dont see any noticeable difference.. Still slower than a 650 and still far behind the 755p..

I'm sure the answer is no but will this help me with my low dbCache issues on my 650?

    Thanks

Oh, so your experience supercedes everyone elses? I know what I'm experiencing . . . glad to hear you think you know what I'm experiencing!

What you derive from Uncache is device and LIST dependent with the best results occurring for pre-680 Treos!

I tried uncache on my 700P and I don't see any difference. My Treo isn't overloaded with apps either.

The problem I have with uncache is the 13 day trial period.

I installed in on May 14th. It has expired.
