nice. so you say there is no lag between hitting the hardware buttons, specifically with calendar button mapped to agendus which use to take forever to open on the 700p

    thanks

If I had a 700 I'd probably be disappointed, too. But I have had my 650 for two years (probably longer than I've ever stuck with a PDA due to financial tightness), and am now due for my NE2 from Verizon. This looks like the perfect fit for me, since until this announcement I actually was planning to keep the 650 and go month-to-month because there was literally nothing that interested me yet. It's not a huge jump from the 700 at all, but just enough to make me jealous with a 650.

No lag at all. The 700p lag is so frustrating, the 755p does not suffer from this at all.

Heya, I was wondering can you test out Audible? I am curious if the 700P version of Audible can work with the 755P. I don't see the 755 yet on their device center so I am hoping that 700P can work...heck even the 650 be cool if it did work with the 755P.

I'm working on my 2nd look at the 755p. Audible works fine, and so does Audible Air.

    Jimmie-
Have you noticed any difference in the picture quality between the cameras in the 700 and 755?

Also what is the voice recorder quality like? Good enough for voice memos and to record group meetings?

one thing I'm very very happy about with the 755p is that I haven't had one single reset ever since I got it. I even loaded all my apps/games that were on my 700p. it was a pain because I'd go thru resets everyday, sometimes a few and sometimes several. it would get annoying to hit the reset button or take out my battery. palm did good on 755p! woo hoo!

So, since playing with it last night and doing a fresh install...

    - Phone build quality seems much better...not creaky like my 700p was
    - Speaker much better... no cracking
    - callers sound better as well...and they tell me I sound much better
    - Nice and quick...no lag so far
    - keypad has nice solid clicks...also not creaky
    - screen seems better as well, side by side to the 700p,it seems brighter or
    at a minimum is whiter
    - Syncs issues I had when using the cradle or cable with the 700p are gone
(didn't even unpack the new cables, so it never "was" a cable issue
    - Rubberized coating feels great..combined with the improved form factor,
it really feels great in my hand

Only thing left to see is how well it stays paired with my Palm Bluetooth headset. It never did with the 700p, but I don't know if that was an issue with the headset itself (which was replaced once) or the phone.

The new cable is a sync and charge cable. Bout time

I could be wrong, but I don't think the sync cable I received functions as a charging cable. There was a sync cable and a charger...

Annnnd, just as I type that, I seem to vaguely recall the charging symbol on the screen while the Treo was hooked to the laptop by sync cable only.

Hmmm. I guess they split the signal some kind of way. I'm surprised they had free lines for that.

    My point? Who knows?
    * Stuck patches? Partial erase worked for me.
    * Stuck virtual keyboard? Partial erase AND folder deletion worked for me.

I had no idea becuase, I didn't bother to use the 700's as I had a sync charge I bought for the 650. Thats good to know because I have 3 or 4 laying around than can now be useful

So I haven't been paying much attention to these things, as I'm happy with my 650, but the extra memory and apparent stability makes this upgrade attractive. But.....the change to a miniSD card bugs the crap out of me, and after looking at all the pictures, the slot obviously isn't on top any more. Where the heck is it? Please don't tell me it's under the battery cover, because that will be a deal breaker....I have a 1GB SD and a 4GB SD, the 4gigger with music and TV shows on it. I pop them in and out all the time....if I have to take the cover off to get at it, that will just suck...
