    Boooooooooo.

Palm, you had a year to work on this and this is the best you could come up with? I guess my 650 is getting some more use.

Double BOOOO!!! I mean, I knew it was going to be the 700p replacement, but this is such an incremental change that it isnt worth turning my head towards it! They kept the Phone v2.5 because its more power-user oriented...? So is WinMo5!

Dont give up just yet! The Linux Treo is 6 months away and the MR might implement the IM client for the 700p to keep us pacified until then.

Lets hope the MR does in fact improve the stability of our precious investments!

We shall see. I hope palm proves worthy of your optimism. my friend! Ill hang onto a thread of hope I guess, but I have to admit, my faith in them has waned considerably over the past few years.

Mine, too! But nothing out there satisfies my needs/desires fully, so I stick with what I have until something comes out that best fits what I want in a device. But we will see if Palm will bring us back or push us away!

Only to be funny, but if you spent $500 on a Treo, then you have already paid for a *******!

Why the fuss about Google Maps in ROM especially when there is no GPS support? Palm, it's FREE!!!

I honestly hope this phone fails MISERABLY. Maybe, just maybe it will wake up those folks over at Palm....how pathetic.

Makes my choice for the 700wx even more satisfying.
    Palm III-->Palm IIIxe-->Palm 505-->Samsung i300-->Treo 600-->PPC 6600-->Treo 650-->Treo 700wx-->BB Pearl--> BB Curve

Wish my 650 was as strong as yours, I'm upgrading the day this comes out. My old 650 can't live much longer, audio output sound likes its underwater and the speaker can't go above 90% volume or else it starts to sound like static.

Hopefully the next one will keep the standard size SD of my 680. If they go MiniSD for everything what am I going to do with my SD cards!! I wish everyone would standardize on one size for phones.

After reading the specs, it is just amazing how clear it is to me that Palm has lost it, completely.

Here's my impresion of what went down during the architecture of this device:

    A Palm architect:

"Power users are now users who like everything complicated, outdated and oh-so-90's. Screw the easier, slick phone apps of 680s, real users do it the hard way. I have to yet see a power user wearing bluetooth stereo headsets listening to their tunes while on the go."

    Costumer

"But every other new smartphone touts the ease of use, these WM devices are so colorful and visually appealing. The 680 from your own line of products has it soo good!"

Palm Architect "Bullocks! Your are not a power user then... heretic! The 700p was such a beloved platform that heck! instead of fixing the well-known problems, let's apply a mulligan and do over the entire exterior, trim the antenna and add a splash of color and call it a day... a brand spanking new device in the making"

In all seriousness though, no EVDO Rev A? No A2DP? No updated phone interface? Smaller battery? Sad, just so sad.

New people trying to get a new smartphone, look elsewehere, this 755p is just not worth it.
