I just got my Visor Deluxe and this is the first substantial thing that I have tried to do with it.

I found the software "frotz" over here:

    http://www.thezorklibrary.com/otherz...rzorkstuff.htm

I want to use it so that I can play Zork on my Visor. But for the life of me I cannot figure this out. I got frotz onto my Visor, but I don't know how to use it to get Zork onto my Visor. The site where I got Frontz from does not give any hints and I am basicaly clueless.

    anyone have any ideas?

    thanks,
    Scott

    The original Zorks are available:

However, the other Infocom games are still copyrighted, and to play them legally you'd have to own them. The above website has some links with purchasing info. I have a bunch of the original games on old Apple II disks (Starcross, Enchanter and Infidel being my favorites). Someday I'll have to figure out how to get them over to my Visor.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Did you get the Zork games off that website? If so, after you run the installation exe file, it'll create a DATA folder which contains a .dat file (e.g., zork1.dat).

The Frotz package comes with a DOS program called z2pdb. Get into MS-DOS and do something like

    z2pdb zork1.pdb zork1.dat "Zork 1"

The result should be zork1.pdb, which you can transfer to your Palm/Visor. It should show up when you run Frotz.
