Hey, ICQ 2.0 Alpha for PalmOS is now out, with colour support and most fo the functions of ICQ2000b for the PC, except real-time chat.

I've been using it for a few days now with my Thinmodem and I must say I'm pretty impressed with the interface -- it's a BIG improvement over the 1.02 version.

Download it from this page: http://www.icq.com/pda/palmpilot/alpha/

Just tried it out and got my first hard crash in months. Oh well, expected it since it was only Alpha. I'm sure it was more of a fluke too because it happened when I was on low signal strength and trying to long on, and it eventually just hung in the middle of getting on. With that hard crash came a pretty big surprise though. Does ICQ now store your contact list on a server or something like AIM? Because when I had to restore off of my backup module which had not been used since before I tried ICQ, all of my contact list was still intact somehow after I reinstalled ICQ again. If that's the case, that's a nice bonus because ICQ used to not do that. My only other complaint so far is that when you are talking to someone it lists numbers instead of the nick. Much better than the last version of ICQ which was unstable. Can't wait till it's final.
